i'm stuck with a probably stupid issue - having an orange-pi-zero (h2plus) and want to use the SY8113B regulator so i figured applying https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/9858395/ is enough.. however the /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq dir is missing
<mirko>
any hint on what i could be missing?
<ElBarto>
no operating point table in dtsi ?
<mirko>
haha, i indeed missed it

does anybody know if there is an updated patchset for a83t smp support
<jack__>
I've tried the latest set that wens sent, but the u-boot patches + gic workaround causes the kernel not to boot
<wens>
nope, smp via psci in u-boot for a83t is abandoned
<jack__>
ok, thanks wens; are there any plans for support via another method?
<jack__>
I've seen your mcsr patches for sun9i/a80, would a similar method exist?
<montjoie>
mripard: this repo have lots of work for a83t...
<mripard>
if you come up with a better naming scheme as part of your serie, go ahead
<mripard>
I'll submit a v2 of those patches next week
<jernej>
actually, most of those registers are not needed
<jernej>
I just removed them, but if you think we should keep it for documenting purposes, I could leave them in
<mripard>
given the sparse documentation we have, yeah, I'd prefer to let them in
<mripard>
montjoie: most of them have been either already sent or merged though
<montjoie>
mripard: it is what I looking for:)
<mripard>
the only things missing are basically SMP and cpufreq

and I think thermal is also a problem...
<icenowy[m]>
I don't like to implement new generation thermal sensor support in old sun4i-gpadc-iio driver
<icenowy[m]>
it's totally a mess
<mripard>
feel free to clean it up as you see fit
<icenowy[m]>
I still feel a dedicated driver the most clean.
<mripard>
and that won't happen, can we move to the discussion about how to clean it up ?

make metadriver that will have few functions and bunch of subdrivers instead of ifdefs?
<icenowy[m]>
mripard: another problem: H5 thermal sensor is not linear
<icenowy[m]>
mripard: this can happen
<icenowy[m]>
sharing code is for easier maintaince
<icenowy[m]>
but if a thermal sensor driver contains tons of not thermal-related code (GPADC code)
<icenowy[m]>
it will be more difficult to maintain
<KotCzarny>
but drivers usually are required to do only specific functions, and once it's working well according to some preset api its not going to change (ie. no maintenance required) ?

which kernel do I need to clone to get the v40 with the latest berry-dtb to recognize the usb ports ? torvals doesn't find anything but the watchdog and axp20x-i2c chip and complains about not finding properties in /soc/i2c@1c2ac00/pmic@68, seems like I'm missing something fundamental here....

The current kernel in branch sunxi-next does not boot properly when the DRM for HDMI is activated in sun7i-a20-cubieboard2.dtb
<hor63>
The system comes up with the simple-fb but when it switches to the DRM drivers the screen goes dark.
<hor63>
After the panic timeout panic=10 the system re-boots after 10 seconds.

When I remove the latest changes to the dts, i.e. the system remains on simple-fb the system boots just fine.
