<jrb>
howdy, I've been playing with building a mainline u-boot and kernel for a CHIP Pro. I noticed on the sunxi wiki it is mentioned a special allwinner uboot is required to boot from nand -- is this still the case?
<jrb>
I've been able to boot a mainline uboot via fel, and can write it to the nand from within uboot, but it doesn't currently boot, so I would assume this is the case, but wanted to confirm I'm not doing something else wrong

plaes: i was wrong, it did not apply cleanly :( but no worries, it was not a big thing i imagine
<paulk-gagarine>
willmore, S905 is known to enforce verification of the first bootloader's signature
<paulk-gagarine>
but in this case it seems that they have a version of the chip that does not

oliv3r: try on top of wens' sunxi-next
<oliv3r>
plaes: yeah but i'm doing this excersize because i need maxime's drm stuff :p
<paulk-gagarine>
oliv3r, also I got in touch with that S905 board, turns out they probably did not burn the OTP keys used for boot software verification
<oliv3r>
the only thing that's worrying is, that 'yuq' was woring on the nfc driver 4 years ago for a bit, and besides it never being finished/working on the ML he was lacking some knowledge. So i'm curious where this is heading. but atleast it is a really really good start
<paulk-gagarine>
with the peopel making that S905 board*
<oliv3r>
yet
<oliv3r>
:p
<oliv3r>
but i suppose amlogic never burns the key, it is always the suppliers?
<paulk-gagarine>
oliv3r, let's wait and see how far it goes :)
<paulk-gagarine>
oliv3r, yeah, I've asked for clarification about that
chlorine has joined #linux-sunxi
<paulk-gagarine>
oliv3r, at least for the Hardkernel board using it, the first stage loader is definitely not coming from amlogic but from hardkernel
<paulk-gagarine>
so if it is signed at all, it is signed by hardkernel
