<slapin> can 2e do that too?
<KotCzarny> slapin: opi+2 is quite different from opi+2e

<rellla> slapin: the problem, why kodi is not running ootb with libvdpau-sunxi as the backend is, that kodi depends on an OpenGL feature, that lets gl interact with vdpau surfaces. this is OpenGL/NVidia specific and not available on arm and OpenGL/ES.
<rellla> as by definition, vdpau is not intended to work on arm anyway, so...
<rellla> a workaround is, to hack these interoperability feature software-based into libvdpau-sunxi and make it use of GL/ES. therefore the app has to be adapted, too.
kido has joined #linux-sunxi
<rellla> there is work in progress for imitating nv_gl_interop within libvdpau-sunxi as well as use this code then back in kodi. see my libvdpau-sunxi repo on github and the work of user mosterta.
<rellla> this is the kodi side, for chrome i don't know.
<rellla> hope this explanation helps.

<lennyraposo> hey longsleep
<longsleep> lennyraposo: hey
<lennyraposo> got some new bsp stuff from AW
<lennyraposo> and an image that apparently has the working display and drm/amli portions
<lennyraposo> you want links?
<longsleep> sure
<lennyraposo> it's ahack job to say the least
<plaes> o_O
<longsleep> well i am interested in the device tree and their kernel config
<lennyraposo> I have the config file too and some minor notes
<longsleep> well then, i its feasable i might look at it on the weekend again

<longsleep> how are A64 and H64 in relation to each other?
kivutar has quit [Ping timeout: 250 seconds]
<lennyraposo> other than the target bse (tablet vs ott boxes and 4k display output) from what I ahve weeded through
<lennyraposo> could it be the a64 just does the decode but won't output 4k?
<lennyraposo> any manuals on the h64?
kivutar has joined #linux-sunxi
<lennyraposo> nope
<lennyraposo> the a64 manual says it is capable of displaying 4k too
<longsleep> well, i am going to commit the other kernel into another branch on top of my existing bsp-2.0 lichee so its easy to view changes
<longsleep> accidentially rsynced deleted my .git folder - should not watch tv while doing that shit
kivutar has quit [Ping timeout: 244 seconds]
<lennyraposo> you are comfortabel with git
<lennyraposo> I am always afraid of it
<lennyraposo> cloning is all I do
<longsleep> They have erratum 845719 enabled in there Kernel config, http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail/linux-arm-kernel/2015-March/334664.html
<longsleep> lennyraposo: git is easily the command i use most every day
<longsleep> but, alas now i have to clone the kernel again as i deleted the .git folder - and cloing the kernel tree is .... slow
<longsleep> thankfull it was only my crappy bsp experiments tree and not the one where i do the real work :P
<lennyraposo> well I have the most recent from your git
<lennyraposo> tucked away
<lennyraposo> ;)
Maakuth has quit [Ping timeout: 244 seconds]
cosm has quit [Ping timeout: 264 seconds]
<longsleep> well, if you accidentally delete .git as i just did you have to clone again
<longsleep> so their kernel loads the display stuff as module and they compile both disp2 and drm as module which did not work for me earlier
<lennyraposo> just tried and it compiled
<longsleep> their tree?
<lennyraposo> nope
<lennyraposo> wrong window
<longsleep> i will not try to compile their tree - it needs to compile in my tree
vagrantc has quit [Quit: leaving]
<lennyraposo> but your tree is ocmpiling thus far
<longsleep> yes because i fixed things
<lennyraposo> I imported their portions into it
<lennyraposo> not your pure tree
<longsleep> "their portions" ?
<lennyraposo> just wanna see what iot does
Amit_T has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]
<lennyraposo> brought over the disp and drm /includes/drm
<lennyraposo> plus the modules for mali
<lennyraposo> just to see what it does
<lennyraposo> now building the kernel tarball
<longsleep> ok
Amit_T has joined #linux-sunxi
<lennyraposo> it has the sunxidrm and the disp stuffs
<lennyraposo> INSTALL drivers/gpu/drm/sunxi/sunxidrm.ko
<longsleep> yeah well, does it show something
<lennyraposo> INSTALL drivers/video/sunxi/disp2/disp/disp.ko
<lennyraposo> INSTALL drivers/video/sunxi/disp2/hdmi/hdmi.ko
<lennyraposo> will know once I bring int he kerenl into th epine
<lennyraposo> hope you don't mind that I modified your update kernel script ;)
<lennyraposo> hehe
<longsleep> you did? i do not mind as long as it works
<longsleep> i made some changes to it a while ago
<longsleep> make sure you have those
<lennyraposo> for personal use so I can bring in the kernel to my pine
<lennyraposo> from test cases
<lennyraposo> just omitted the verfication process for my test purposes and downloads from my laptop to the pine is all
<lennyraposo> if it works out finally
<lennyraposo> will place an option to select an experimental kernel download
<lennyraposo> and send it along to you ;)
<lennyraposo> your the wizard
<lennyraposo> I'm just a padawan
<longsleep> interesting is that things got changed a lot - again
<lennyraposo> noticed a few more files that weren't there
<jelle> longsleep: yeah it loads slowly :p
<longsleep> i am looking at the mali driver, it could as well be another driver considering all the changes
<longsleep> jelle: yeah sorry i should have linked the branch directly, Github cannot display all the changes anyways
<lennyraposo> well I should know if the display works on this build or not
<jelle> yeah indeed
<lennyraposo> mali-8
<lennyraposo> 8th attempt
<longsleep> well at least the changes in include/drm are small
<longsleep> - {0x1002, 0x6617, PCI_ANY_ID, PCI_ANY_ID, 0, 0, CHIP_OLAND|RADEON_IS_MOBI
<longsleep>
<longsleep> whatever unrelated :)
<longsleep> so i am not picking this
<lennyraposo> they have the sunxi_drm.h or whatever is named listed there
<longsleep> yes but that has not changed since the last drop
<lennyraposo> nope
<lennyraposo> has not
<lennyraposo> fetching hdmi cable
<lennyraposo> will post dmesg on this build
<lennyraposo> basically
<JohnDoe_71Rus> http://paste.ubuntu.com/20332474/ try make libvdpau-sunxi
<lennyraposo> longsleep kernel with sunxi added in drm from their new BSP
<lennyraposo> plus the their display
<lennyraposo> their mali
<lennyraposo> imported
<longsleep> interesting, disp2 driver changed _a lot_
<longsleep> lots and lots of stuff was removed
<jelle> hmm that's the hdmi one right
<jelle> longsleep: does it have a license now?
<longsleep> nope
<longsleep> modified: disp2/hdmi/libhdmi_sun8iw11
<longsleep> libhdmi_sun5iw1 did not change
<longsleep> and it also still uses it
<longsleep> disp2/hdmi/Makefile:hdmi-$(CONFIG_ARCH_SUN50IW1P1) += libhdmi_sun50iw1
<longsleep> so license wise still bogus
<lennyraposo> latest mali test with your kernel branch longsleep ;)
<longsleep> well does it show something on the screen?
<lennyraposo> switching inputs now
<longsleep> well you got drm errors in your log
<longsleep> [ 14.679055] [drm:sunxi_display_init] *ERROR* unable to map dsi registers
<longsleep> [ 14.686439] [drm:sunxi_drm_load] *ERROR* failed to initialize sunxi drm dev.
<longsleep> [ 14.694582] sunxi-drm: probe of sunxi-drm failed with error 11075584
<lennyraposo> yep
<lennyraposo> nothing
<lennyraposo> and yes I noticed that too
<lennyraposo> but chekc this out
<longsleep> not even pink?
<lennyraposo> no pink
<lennyraposo> nada
<longsleep> well, my tree as it is at least initializes the drm driver
<longsleep> and thus the screen goes pink
<lennyraposo> brb
<lennyraposo> ther eis asignal to the hdmi
<lennyraposo> but nothing apepars
<lennyraposo> appears
<lennyraposo> was testing my tv
<lennyraposo> then shutting it off
<lennyraposo> I get the no signal
<lennyraposo> I had 2 builds that showed no signal
<lennyraposo> drm loaded
<lennyraposo> it has somethign to do with the display at this point is what I thought
<lennyraposo> I will keep playing with things here
