<mpmctoo> Well who would have thought it, an SD card that claims to be fast, an Integral Ultra (40 read/20 write) that cost over £10 for 1 turns out to be slower 1.5mb/s than a Toshiba cheapo at £2.08 which writes at 5mb/s+! This damn slow card was the reason my bpi was having issues with some usb devices (i2c errors) - replaced with a faster card and no errors! :/

<alsy> Could some tell me how to enable tv-out on a cubietruck? I run u-boot 2015.10 with tv-out support and mainline 4.3-rc7 kernel. Do I have to enable TV out in dts too?

* NiteHawk forwards from #u-boot
<NiteHawk> <staywait4moreppl> So the latest mainline ub files for sunxi banana pi (and others) is a folder filled with files saying the compilation failed because the storage device was out of space
<NiteHawk> <staywait4moreppl> I'm guess this is already known? Maybe?
<NiteHawk> that doesn't look right...
<libv> mnemoc, Turl: ^
<libv> but why would anyone still want those :)
<libv> building sunxi uboot is not rocketscience or a tough job

<mnemoc> according to https://github.com/linux-sunxi/sunxi-nightly/blob/master/build.sh u-boot-sunxi-mainline is a build of denx's master
<mnemoc> for of all sunxi boards
* mnemoc tries to remember where that build runs...

<libv> plaes: what is this about?
<plaes> "Running a mainline kernel on a cellphone
<NiteHawk> check the frontpage of https://lwn.net/, it's the "Running a mainline kernel on a cellphone" one
<libv> right
<libv> they all talk big
<wens> it's a summary (?) of a kernel summit talk
<libv> but when someone actually goes and starts REing GPU drivers, he gets surprisingly little backing
<plaes> :)
<libv> and quite the opposite several years down the line
<plaes> yeah.. few months ago I got a really nice phone from friend
<plaes> unfortunately it's stuck with android 2.4 :S
<libv> ooh, at least that one already had LD_PRELOAD :p
<libv> plaes: that's soo 2011 :)
<plaes> yeah, that's how I got it :)
<plaes> err.. s/how/why
<libv> i don't think we already were oggling allwinner in #arm-netbook at that time
<libv> i was working on telechips at the time, mali m200
<libv> android only
<mnemoc> plaes: did the link I passed you work?
<plaes> mnemoc: yeah, thx :)
<mnemoc> :)
<plaes> got carried away :D
<plaes> it even has kernel tarball on Samsung site
<libv> plaes: is that thing really worth your time?
<plaes> nope
<libv> :)
<libv> plaes: put it on the pile and carry on with sunxi stuff :p

<mnemoc> *g*
<plaes> well, that phone has Vivante GPU :P
<libv> but it is a shame that so little has changed with respect to fixing this
<libv> pavel machek still carries his n900 around
<libv> it's the most open phone there still is today
<libv> and everyone involved in keeping that status quo should be pretty ashamed

<adj_> yeah, phone status is even more sad than any other arm devices
<adj_> even jolla as the successor of the most open nokia devices (n900 and n9) isn't doing a lot of effort
<adj_> they don't even support freedreno, afaik
<atsampson> are there any Allwinner-based phones?
<Wizzup> adj_: yeah, no freedreno :/
<adj_> atsampson, I'm doing myself an allwinner tablet
<adj_> i plan to used some usb 3g adapter, but i'm far from that

<adj_> Wizzup, of course, I'm open to suggestions!
<Wizzup> look at the neo900 project
<adj_> that's a complete board for the n900 case, I just want a usb 3d device (I prefer external usb)
<adj_> it seems that they have not even decided the 3g chip that will have

<altella> Hello all
<altella> I have a doubt regarding Uboot, kernel and hardware description file in the Banana Pi
<altella> The ting is that in the SD, if I install a distro, lest say Arch, there are two partitions, one of 52MB and other with the resto of the system. Files such as uImage, script.bin and uEnv.txt are in both partitions
<altella> in the one of 52MB and in /boot in the rootfs
cosm_ has quit [Ping timeout: 250 seconds]
<altella> why is this? this is correct? In my simple undestanding there should be enough only with the boot in the rootfs
<altella> thanks in advance
