<mnemoc> hi, is people still getting the old image from http://linux-sunxi.org/images/c/c1/Lemaker_BananaPI.jpg ?
sawtooth8 has joined #linux-sunxi

sawtooth8 is now known as sawtooth7
<vpeter> mnemoc: Where is the difference ?
<mnemoc> i don't know. but via http://linux-sunxi.org/images/c/c1/Lemaker_BananaPI.jpg people was getting a file from 2014 and via http://sunxi.org/images/c/c1/Lemaker_BananaPI.jpg one from 2015
bobryan has quit [Ping timeout: 244 seconds]
<mnemoc> for me curl -I always returned the same :|
<vpeter> I see same image in browser. And with curl.
<NiteHawk> mnemoc: seems fixed now, at least for the "full size" image from the above urls
<NiteHawk> some of the intermediate sizes / thumbnails still have the reddish background (improper white balance), but that may be due to my browser cache - will check that
<NiteHawk> e.g. I still get this: http://lpaste.net/2050610634868916224
<NiteHawk> expiry is set for friday, so it should eventually sort itself out?
<mnemoc> can you try asking mediawiki to purge them?
<vpeter> mnemoc: this image doesn't have correct background for me http://linux-sunxi.org/images/thumb/c/c1/Lemaker_BananaPI.jpg/250px-Lemaker_BananaPI.jpg
<mnemoc> ok, purge 250px and 725px
<mnemoc> from CF. any other thumbnail?
bobryan has joined #linux-sunxi
<mnemoc> both purged on CF
<NiteHawk> purging seemed to help. good idea
<mnemoc> any other thumbnail size?
<NiteHawk> the topmost thumbnail in the history of http://linux-sunxi.org/File:Lemaker_BananaPI.jpg still looks wrong for me
avph has quit [Ping timeout: 264 seconds]
bobryan has quit [Ping timeout: 264 seconds]
<NiteHawk> i purged it and got the right thumbnail, but it's back to the previous state on the file page - guess that's more CF caching. however, that's a minor problem as it doesn't affect any page display directly

<rgwan> Hello
<rgwan> Does any body own a Mele i7?
<rgwan> I had replaced the onboard NAND flash to eMMC\
<rgwan> but I cannot boot from it
<rgwan> Oh??
naobsd has joined #linux-sunxi
<rgwan> Are there anyone online....
<RSpliet> rgwan: which lines did you use for connecting the eMMC to the SoC?
<rgwan> There
<rgwan> I have got the pinout of tSD
<rgwan> It is basically a SD-compiliant device
<rgwan> but it uses TSOP package
<libv> rgwan: where did this image come from?
<rgwan> I built it:)
<RSpliet> the watermark implies otherwise
<rgwan> Oh
<rgwan> you said the image?
<libv> the original has a watermark that undoubtedly says "confidential"
<rgwan> I has been asked the foresee FAE
<rgwan> and foresee FAE give me this image
<rgwan> so I put it on this website
<rgwan> so I wired a eMMC on it
<rgwan> and bottom are picture
<libv> rgwan: what does "I has been asked the foresee FAE" mean?
<rgwan> In fact, I once meet a chip named "NCTSTS86-04G"
<rgwan> used in Mele A100 Dual Core version
<libv> rgwan: this picture does not seem to be creative commons.
<rgwan> I'm sorry...
<libv> rgwan: i will have no option but to remove this
<rgwan> Yeah, but you can save this pinout
<rgwan> and I 'm curious about this chip. So I make a search.
<libv> rgwan: save what pinout?
<rgwan> the tSD's pinout
sawtooth7 has quit [Ping timeout: 256 seconds]
philectro has joined #linux-sunxi
<rgwan> Finally I got this picture from FORESEE's FAE
sawtooth7 has joined #linux-sunxi
qt-x has quit [Quit: Leaving]
<libv> rgwan: i suggest that you spend some time with inkscape and draw your own image.
<libv> s/image/picture/
<rgwan> yeah
<RSpliet> but regarding your earlier problem: I'd first try to use the eMMC in Linux while booting from a regular MMC image before trying to format it in such a way that the bootloaders are on there
<libv> rgwan: do you have a local copy of this picture, so that you can recreate the information?
<rgwan> Yes, I have
<rgwan> With Mele i7 disassembled, I discovered that the NAND solder handler has the same pinout as tSD has.
<rgwan> So I wired a eMMC on it
<rgwan> It can be recgonize
<libv> rgwan: ok, then i will delete this picture from our wiki now
<rgwan> OK
<RSpliet> rgwan: well, if this means you wired the eMMC pins to the NAND controller it's not going to work
<rgwan> no
<rgwan> I wired it to the SD2 controller
<RSpliet> they share the same pins on the SoC
<rgwan> and the eMMC can be operate in the SD Linux system
<RSpliet> ok, so that bit works
<sawtooth7> oh this 48-TSOP has SD only pinouts ? interested
<rgwan> not "only"
<rgwan> it has both of it
<sawtooth7> it's the first time i see this
<rgwan> Flash and SD
<sawtooth7> i thought they were all NAND flashes
<rgwan> But it can't boot
<rgwan> because A31 has a bootselect pin
<RSpliet> rgwan: usually BROM tries various controllers
<rgwan> uses this two pins to select startup device:eMMC/SD NAND flash or SPI Flash
<sawtooth7> right
<rgwan> It isn't like A10/A20/A13 devices
<RSpliet> ok, then I can't help you further
<rgwan> s/isn't/doesn't/g
<rgwan> So I'm trying to find out where this the two pins hide...
<sawtooth7> oh wait, but it's not like the SD has this TSOP-48 package
<RSpliet> no, "isn't" seems more correct in this context
<rgwan> Now I haven't any information about it
<rgwan> so I ask it on this group
<sawtooth7> there is another footprint inside the TSOP-48
<rgwan> sawtooth7:yeah
<rgwan> The TSOP-48 pinout can support two type of flash:tSD and raw Flash
<rgwan> libv:I remember that the cubietech's cubietruck has a tSD on it
<rgwan> it can supports tSD
<libv> rgwan: is there anything similar on olimex devices?
<libv> but cubie is a20
<rgwan> I don't know olimex devices
<rgwan> cubie has the same design on it
<rgwan> The Mele A100 Dual core version also has same design on it
<rgwan> but basically, their are A10/A20 device
<rgwan> so they don't suffer from BootSelect bother
<libv> rgwan: why do i mention olimex: it is oshw, so you have full schematics and everything
<rgwan> I updated new version of it
<rgwan> Uses CubieTruck schematic
<sawtooth7> the chip attempts first booting from SD then from NAND right ?
<sawtooth7> automatically ...
<rgwan> A10 A20 does
<rgwan> but A31 doesn't
<sawtooth7> a23/a33 seem to do it too
<sawtooth7> ah ok
<rgwan> A31 checks FEL at first
<rgwan> if FEL passed, A31 will boot from SD0
<rgwan> if FEL don't pressed
<rgwan> A31 will boot from the boot select setting
<rgwan> libv:seems the cache of image hasn't clean out?
doppo has quit [Ping timeout: 272 seconds]
<rgwan> I uploaded a new image, but it still displays old
<libv> rgwan: yes, we have that problem due to cloudflare caching on top of mediawiki caching
cajg has quit [Ping timeout: 276 seconds]
<libv> we had that discussion for most of yesterday and today :)

<rgwan> libv: I has tested any empty resistor's position
<rgwan> but it just simply can't boot from eMMC
doppo has joined #linux-sunxi
<rgwan> May be I should desolding the CPU
<rgwan> and check what f**king link to the bootselect pin?
<rgwan> I'm sure I has write the U-Boot image on the eMMC
<libv> rgwan: all of that seems like a lot of trouble for a single device
<rgwan> Yeah
<rgwan> Umm...What about the MTD driver of A31
<rgwan> I fixed the dts, and run the MTD driver
<rgwan> it just get kernel panic
<rgwan> So I replace it to eMMC....

<Dodger78> Hi NiteHawk , i managed to get /proc/device-tree , i was lacking a option in kernel config
<Dodger78> BUT , im lacking the /sys/ cpufreqd entry
<KRiSh5> dear channel members, is there anybody with knowledge of the Goodix GT911 drivers here ?
<NiteHawk> hi Dodger78! well, some progress for a start :) what was missing for /proc/device-tree (in case someone encounters that again)?
<Dodger78> its a new option for 4.1 kernels. you need to activate Device Drivers -> Device Tree and Open Firmware Support -> Device Tree overlays
<Dodger78> CONFIG_OF_OVERLAY
khuey|away is now known as khuey
<Dodger78> another option makes me guess it might be SYSFS ...
<NiteHawk> i see. do you have a /proc/device-tree/cpus/cpu@0 now?
<Dodger78> its called "Generic Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling support " DVFS
<Dodger78> yes i got it , but no cpufreq in it as far as i can see
<NiteHawk> that won't be in there. but does it list stuff like "operating-points" and "cooling-[max|min]-level"?
<Dodger78> uh i ge some weird chars upon cat operating-points
<Dodger78> im on the target via ssh
<NiteHawk> same here. i just wanted to make sure that node is there at all ;)
<Dodger78> ^^
<Dodger78> dmesg still says something about missing clock-frequency property , but that might be normal
<KRiSh5> does anybody knows if there is an implementation of the Goodix GT911 drivers which does not use HotKnot ? Also it would be very helpful if somebody has a sample code to initialize the touch panel with that chip and send configuration of registers.
<NiteHawk> Dodger78: yes, i have those messages too
<Dodger78> shall i try CONFIG_PM_DEVFREQ ?
iamfrankenstein has joined #linux-sunxi
<Dodger78> it mentions something about cpufreqd in its comments
<NiteHawk> for now it looks like you have the required device (tree) nodes in place. it's still not clear to my why you get no cpufreq in /sys

<Dodger78> ok i give it a shot ..@Turl yes i have

<NiteHawk> errr... did you actually enable CONFIG_CPU_FREQ_STAT at all?
<NiteHawk> i'm not sure we checked that one yesterday
<NiteHawk> ah ok - we did. http://pastebin.com/nnyGrH0u

<BroderTuck> Anyone with a github account who can reopen https://github.com/allwinner-zh/bootloader/issues/4 ? While it's good that they release the nand (kernel and uboot) source, it's no good if most of the files contain "All rights reserved"...
<BroderTuck> This is for the A80 and the recent A23/A33/A83T commits.

<BroderTuck> alexxy: thx for checking that. wasn't sure if it was possible to reopen
<BroderTuck> A quick check shows that while they relisenced the A20 stuff under GPL, everything released later has used more or less the same licensing that the A20 stuff had before GPL-ing. The commitlog usually refers to opensource, so it should be possible to get them to do the right thing.
