<alexsaezm> Hi, I have a ForFun Q88DB v.1.2 (A13) with a zet6221 touchscreen, running a Debian 8.1 and I´m trying to make the touchscreen works with the Xorg. At this moment I have a working driver https://gist.github.com/alexsaezm/aec3ac4c2e71ec275cec and I can see the events. But the xorg does not work. I guess is because the device is recognize as a keyboard but I don´t know how to change that. The output -> https://gist.github.com/a

<alexsaezm> Oh let me repost...

<alexsaezm> But the xorg does not work. I guess is because the device is recognize as a keyboard but I don´t know how to change that.
<alexsaezm> now? :)
<plaes> better, though I don't know the answer :S
<plaes> but search in the linux-sunxi mailinglist
<plaes> there's a thread for that
<plaes> and add it to the wiki, if you get it working
diego71 has quit [Ping timeout: 244 seconds]
<alexsaezm> I read it but I don´t get any clues. And sure! If I found something I´ll edit the wiki. It was so helpful that I want to help :D

<plaes> "I finally got this going on my Q88. For xorg I had to modify /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-multitouch.conf and add a pattern match on "MatchIsTouchscreen" so it would be applied."
<alexsaezm> I´ll try it again, just to be sure
<plaes> that's basically everything I know about that :S
<alexsaezm> Me too :P
<alexsaezm> But thanks :)

<bpi_user> Hi! Is anybody familiar with the Cache Coherent Interface (CCI) on Allwinner SoCs?
<RSpliet> bpi_user: probably not, but why not just ask what you wish to know?
mozzwald has joined #linux-sunxi
<bpi_user> I noticed a configuration change between Linux 4.0 and 4.1. CONFIG_ARM_CCI now defaults to yes on V7 cpus. I was wondering if that would be neccessary at all on an A20 SoC. My unterstanding so far was, that the CCI is only used on Big.Little SoCs like the A80.
<RSpliet> "and I/O coherency for devices such as the Mali™-T600 series GPU, and I/O masters like modem and USB"
<NiteHawk> would it harm on the "v7-only" SoCs?
<bpi_user> Probably no harm - but it would result in a slightly bigger kernel.
<bpi_user> @RSpliet: I found that too (and somewhere I also read that it applies to Mali400 as well.) But the driver Documentation also mentions how to reference it in the Device Tree. And on A20 there is no mention of cci in the dts files. On A80 there is.
<RSpliet> bpi_user: if you want a kernel tailored specifically for your device, do it the Gentoo way
<RSpliet> if you want a smaller kernel, you might gain more from THUMB2_KERNEL (if it works, that is...)
<bpi_user> It's not that I really need a smaller kernel. I'm just trying to have unecessary stuff disabled to reduce compilation times so it can be compiled on the device itself.
<bpi_user> (Of course it can be compiled on the device either way, it just takes longer the more stuff is enabled.)
<NiteHawk> one way to 'automate' that: pick one of the default configs and add your desired changes "on top" of it with scripts/kconfig/merge_config.sh
<bpi_user> @NiteHawk: That's kind of what I'm doing atm. I use sunxi_defconfig and base my changes on that.
<NiteHawk> ah, ok. i'm using the same approach - just thought it would be worth to mention it
<bpi_user> And sunxi_defconfig doesn't have ARM_CCI enabled btw.
<philippe_fouquet> Hi

<bpi_user> (Just to be precise: The change is not actually that ARM_CCI is now enabled by default, but ARM_CCI400_PMU is, which slects ARM_CCI400_COMMON, which again selects ARM_CCI.)
<philippe_fouquet> I try to work with musb driver from Hans de Goede
<philippe_fouquet> When i connect the usb on my PC it detect it bu not enumerate
<philippe_fouquet> the driver are compiled into the kernel
<bpi_user> @RSpliet: I'm not that familiar with gentoo: But would that change something with regards to changes of default options between Kernel versions?

<wens> only a80/a83 have cci
<RSpliet> bpi_user: no, but "the Gentoo way" is (okay, maybe exaggerated a little) compile your own, and tweak every parameter you can imagine semi-manually
<RSpliet> if you want a kernel that works with every SoC, or even just every AllWinner SoC, you probably want CCI compiled in. Most distributions are interested in this, most embedded system vendors tweak their kernel params anyway
<RSpliet> hence the default makes sense
flyhorse_ktMYj has joined #linux-sunxi
<bpi_user> @RSpliet: Sure. I'm aware that defaults have to suit a broader group of users/devices. I was just wondering if it applies to A20 at all. And wens just answered that.
flyhorse has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
<RSpliet> okay :-)
<bpi_user> @wens: Thanks. That's what I needed to know. So, I can safely disable that.

<bpi_user> @wens: I suspected that. The device tree for sun8i mentions a clock for cci but nothing further. So my assumption was, the SoC has a CCI but it's not used yet, but maybe will be later. But anyway... Thanks.
