<whyrusleeping> freeflying_: very interesting, are there any performance tradeoffs?
leolrrj has joined #ipfs
<freeflying_> whyrusleeping: not a problem of performance, more like people's inclination
<whyrusleeping> freeflying_: i see, i don't really know why you would pick one over the other. but there must be a reason that the go team decided to make the libc resolver the default
<freeflying_> whyrusleeping: I was trying to use the docker image on an arm machine, found that the image on docker hub doesn't support arch checking which means you may pull the image on arm, but it's x86 image was pulled back
<freeflying_> by checking the Dockerfile, I found this issue that ipfs is not a complete static binary
<whyrusleeping> well thats a bit odd
<whyrusleeping> docker works on arm, but pulls x86 images

<Rayben> Tellurocracy (from the Latin tellus "land" and the Greek κράτος "power") is a type of civilization or state system that is clearly associated with the development of land territories and consistent penetration into inland territories. Tellurocratic states have a certain territory and the state-forming ethnic majority living on it, around which further expansion takes place. The opposite of tellurocracy is thalassocracy (maritime empires), althou
<Rayben> gh in the pure type of a particular state is rarely observed. Usually there is a combination of tellurocratic characteristics with thalassocratic.

<mikeal_> what would it provide over the wss connection?
<mikeal_> oh sorry, i missunderstood the question :)
<mikeal_> looks like the go server is just using x/net for websockets and it supports wss, so it should be fairly easy to enable
<mikeal_> just need to pass TLSConfig options :/
<mikeal_> in Node.js I'd recommend against using Core TLS and going with a TLS terminator instead, but Go has a much better/faster crypto stack
