jas-hacks_, dunno, just followed your instructions and copied xubuntu into the root directory of a formatted sd card

linaro: You can 'dd' the from kernel /boot/uImage to your SD and it should detect your tv resolution.

the reference design and the gk802 have the same wifi chip (rtl8192ce)....

i was hoping to be able to start with the freshly released jb4.2.2 from freescale for the sabre boards but this seems to be a little out of my league i am afraid...
