<utente> ssvb, ok, i recompiled xbmc following http://linux-sunxi.org/XBMC. I met the known "blue bug", but also "muchine-gun audio". there is only noise (ta-ta-ta-brrrr-brrr-ta-ta..) on audio output, no else came out. more, xbmc frozed twice, so i must hard reset or log in ssh and reset. Note i did not change any library or other .so, i followeed 100% istruction and recompiled native on cubieboard. some idea/suggestions you can give
<utente> me?
<utente> mm.. wait let me check if mesa confligts...
<utente> some mesa package are presents... i have to remove
<rellla> utente: blue bug seems to be solved. kind of.
<rellla> what audio device are you using?
<utente> rellla, so why i have it ? :) there is a different source to git to myt pc? see i dit it last night, so it is recen.
<utente> im using hdmi
<rellla> it's not pushed yet ;)
<utente> aaaarghh!!!!
<utente> so i must wait :|
<utente> please, ipdate the xbmc page as soon as you upload it, so i can read and redo the job with fixed code.
<rellla> ok. i have no problems using hdmi sound. tried playing with the settings in settings/audio?
<utente> wait, let me use a divverent player, so i can tell ytou aboiut audio.. geve me one minute.
<rellla> utente: i'll push it later. do you have a chance to cross build xbmc, i need a tester that doesn't require half of the day ;)
<utente> totem and gnome-mplayer audio good. so problem align on xbmc
<utente> i also set clock at 1008Mhz (afraid 1152 give problem) but no solution, xbmc audio still "machine-gun"
<utente> no cross build, i am confident with my cubieboard. i can run and report it asap it complete
<utente> (nice wiull be to clusterize 2-4 cb to share compile withe distcc :) )
<rellla> <rellla>tried playing with the settings in settings/audio? device etc.
<utente> yes, i selecto analog, digital, hdmi... no difference.
<utente> but i think is a waste of time to do effort now, better to wait your new code.
<utente> and recompile

<rellla> audio in xbmc is hardcoded zu sun4i iirc

<ssvb> there are no fixes in the master branch, but two alternative branches exist which look like what you want
<ssvb> utente_: if you want to test them, then you can do something like "git clone -b stage/Frodo_fixblue1 git://github.com/rellla/xbmca10.git" instead of "git clone git://github.com/rellla/xbmca10.git"
<ssvb> the rest is according to the instructions from http://linux-sunxi.org/XBMC

<ssvb> utente_: have you done all the 'apt-get build-dep ...' and 'apt-get install ...' steps?
<ssvb> but wait, "File name too long" error message looks really suspicions
<ssvb> what kind of file system are you using?
<utente_> ssvb, look, the enviroinment is the same of xbmc o compile yesterday, (i woks fine altroungh thr blue problem), now i simple create a new directory to work in.
<ssvb> the fixblue patch is really small, and can't cause the problems like this by itself
<utente_> so i thin the guiltyness in not on my system but into ne new code. now i overwrite taglib with the original one an compiulation in going on fine.
<ssvb> something might have changed in your environment, you could run out of disk space, or the other similar issues
<utente_> nope, it is 1.5T sata disk :) and swap ois activatec as suggested into how to.
<ssvb> it's just that the patch does not affect taglib in any way
<ssvb> so you got some mystery there :)

<atsampson> utente_: look at config.log and see what the actual error was (when it did the shared_ptr test) -- it may be that you've got a newer version of Boost installed than the source expects, and you need to tell it to link with an extra library
verysoftoiletppr has joined #cubieboard
<utente_> atsampson, thanks for info, i take it for next time bocause i already reflashed.
<ssvb> utente_: looks like fix1 is reported not to work - https://github.com/rellla/xbmca10/issues/16#issuecomment-21432583
<ssvb> utente_: also about the part related to git clone, just noticed that http://linux-sunxi.org/XBMC is doing "git checkout stage/Frodo" after clone
<utente_> ssvb, u meaa i must skip "git checkout stage/Frodo" ir i have to do?
<ssvb> utente_: so it switches to the stage/Frodo branch, and you need stage/Frodo_fixblue2
<utente_> aaaah!
<utente_> ok
<ssvb> either way, if you run "git branch" command, it will show the currently active branch
<utente_> now i m doin all from zero, dowloanding apt-get build-dep xbmc etc.
<ssvb> you want it to be stage/Frodo_fixblue2
<ssvb> and you can also run "git log" to verify that the last commit is https://github.com/rellla/xbmca10/commit/f783be492973f0768f6b28647d66267b396eb610
