<\\Mr_C\\> ttyusb0 is a serial port
<\\Mr_C\\> use a terminal not ssh
<CubieSSH> no I haven't tried to switch the wires
<CubieSSH> should I use the cu?
<\\Mr_C\\> are you doing this through a serial cable right?
<CubieSSH> yes I'm going serial cable
<\\Mr_C\\> cu -s 115200 -l /dev/ttyUSB0
<CubieSSH> okay I'll try that gotta write that down I was trying to install arch linux man it's a doozy!

<jayrambhia> has anyone worked with opencv on cubieboard? My setup is done and everything is running. I have some issues regarding performance.
<jayrambhia> I am running a simple code which reads same image in a loop. I have added a scanf function after which it reads the image.
<jayrambhia> when the program starts it takes upto 500 msec to read the image
<jayrambhia> but the quicker I give input to scanf, the quicker it gets. It reads image in 40 msec.
<jayrambhia> Does anyone know what's going on here?

<papito00> good mornig
<papito00> i am interested in powering cubieboard on battery
<papito00> wich do you recomend?
<buZz> li+
<buZz> papito00: cubietruck, an upcoming revision, has battery support built into the board
<papito00> can't cubiebox2 be connected to any battery??
<papito00> at all?
<buZz> of course it can
KiSM has joined #cubieboard
<buZz> you just need to turn the output of the battery into nice clean 5v
<buZz> the cubietruck does that by itself
<buZz> what is cubiebox2 btw?
<papito00> oook, my main question is, wich battery is suitable, i need it to be small
<papito00> i saw a revision
<papito00> a20 chip
<papito00> dualcore
<papito00> dual mali
<papito00> cubie regulate the voltage, is that what you mean?
eebrah is now known as eebrah|away
datagutt_ is now known as datagutt
<buZz> cubietruck regulates it yes
<buZz> cubieboard (even the a20 one) doesnt
<buZz> i use li+ cells to power a raspi
<buZz> 3 cells, give 3.7*3 volt
<buZz> then a 5v 2A regulator
<buZz> then the board
<papito00> could you give the links of your stuff??
<papito00> battery and regulator
<papito00> please
<buZz> the li+ cells i removed from broken laptop batteries
<papito00> oook
<buZz> the regulator i ordered on a RC website
<papito00> i'll check
<papito00> thanks a lot, appreciate your info
<deasy> buZz, can you show the regulator? thank
<buZz> i lost the link actually
<buZz> but i can show a similar product
<deasy> thank you(even if ebay prohibit me to see)
<deasy> (fu ebay)
<old-papa-work> You might be able to make a bucky power supply to output to 5 v.. I think it is called a bucky..

<buZz> old-papa-work: how many amp does the pcbs supply?
<Bushmills> that's 4 18650 cells per pack
<buZz> 7.4 is 2 18650 cells
<Bushmills> but 4400 mAh isn't
<buZz> yeah it can be
<buZz> there are 4.4Ah li+ cells
<buZz> doesnt have to be 18650 ;) he never said so
<Bushmills> one 18650 is about 2000...2500 mAh. 3.7 V average
<Bushmills> doesn't have to but very likely they are
<old-papa-work> 1.5A what I recall
<buZz> meh, not enough
<buZz> i need something like .. 5A for a wearable
<buZz> with crt display, 3g modem, harddrive
<old-papa-work> looking up battery now..

<deasy> have you mesure the temp?
<Bushmills> i used the thumb method
<r4v5> I haven't measured the temp. But when I run it at full CPU it's hot enough that I wouldn't put it in an enclosure
<deasy> okay
<deasy> we can monitor it? it's a sensor in the soc?
<Bushmills> i have a sensor in my thumb
<r4v5> (this is for my particular use case, which will probably be in a sun-hit area)
<r4v5> the sensor in your thumb is a thermal differentiator, not a temperature sensor :)
