About how large are bitcoin's balance tables today, once the blockchain has been traversed and verified?
<arubi>
gettxoutsetinfo says just about 2gb
smk has joined #bitcoin-wizards
<Raccoon>

<Raccoon>
Is that just public bitcoin addresses and their holdings; address=value pairs?
<arubi>

I am curious the logistics of creating a balance sheet side-chain blockchain, and technical aspects of that
<Raccoon>
theoretical ideas with regard to cryptocurrencies
<arubi>
oh sorry, I thought your question wasn't about that kind of topic

sure, Raccoon , I don't know much about what you're asking. I'm usually around here just lurking and listening to cool ideas people bring up :)

the idea would be multi-fold. allowing clients to opt for varying levels of participation in blockchain verification. and if there were a balance sheet blockchain, linked to the regular blockchain, how trusted would it be after N blocks have been hashed and signed
<Raccoon>
then newly downloaded clients wouldn't necessarily have to download the entire blockchain since genesis
<Raccoon>
I'd like to know what a pubaddress=holdings table would be, stripped of txids
<Raccoon>
in terms of size
<Raccoon>
compared to one with txids and info required to complete transactions

Raccoon: your idea has some overlap with UTXO commitments, are you familiar with those?
<Raccoon>
by movement, I mean plans for adoption by Bitcoin Core
<raphieson>
A choice that is to go live in just four days when the bitcoin network undergoes its first hardfork chain-split, opening the decision to the free market, the ultimate 51%.
<raphieson>
ok 2
<kanzure>
raphieson: stay on topic or get out
<raphieson>

kanzure, if XBT becomes BCC which is currently the internationally recognized symbol for BTC, how does that affect option? or the only options you ever right are for bitcoin core coin? is this laid out in the CFTC stuff?
<_Sam-->
kanzure, your name sounds like cancer which is what you are like to this industry
