<buZz>
pabloGNU: anyway, mali driver is just for OpenGLES
<ssvb>
pabloGNU: I have not tried xbmc myself, but would be interested to know if there are any problems with it
<w00tc0d3>
is ODROID nice?
<pabloGNU>
ssvb i try an img of ubuntu with xbmc but with mp4 fails
<ssvb>
pabloGNU: does it work with xf86-video-mali?
<pabloGNU>
so i have xbmc compiled by my self but i don't have X running
<pabloGNU>
ssvb th xf86-video-sunxifb is better
<pabloGNU>
so i want to try with it
<ssvb>
pabloGNU: ok, but if xbmc is only trying to use mali for scaling and colorspace conversion, then disp layers can do a much better job (and I think there should be disp layers enabled xbmc version somewhere)
<pabloGNU>
well i will try and tell you something
<ssvb>
though trying to use mali with xbmc sounds like a fun exercise :)
<theborger>
buZz: let me re ask the question then. what other boards are there, besides the cubieboard, hardkernel, Pi
<theborger>
and the Olinuxino board
<ssvb>
theborger: ti omap based ones - beagleboard, beaglebone, pandaboard
drachensun has quit [Quit: Leaving]
<pabloGNU>
removing the mali driver i see the login screen and xbmc starts
<ssvb>
pabloGNU: check /var/log/Xorg.0.log, it should have all the information about which xorg driver is used and also lots of debugging/error messages
<pabloGNU>
i don't have x11 running
<pabloGNU>
no xorg
<bfree>
there's also the i.mx6 boards: wandboard sabre-lite nitrogen6x
fragmint has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
<theborger>
the pandaboard site is messed up
<dw>
nitrogen6x is super pricy but it's got sata

<w00tc0d3>
who's got experience with ODROID U2?
<w00tc0d3>
bfree: those are damn expensives afaik
<theborger>
yea those are all highend boards, multiple displays quard core arms
fragmint has joined #arm-netbook
<bfree>
w00tc0d3: wandboard isn't completely insanely expenive (but no sata for starters) ... sabre-lite is expensive but also has everything (sata, gig-e, pic-e, etc) ... but it really is priced for commercial devs and not hobbyists/end-users, you could get two celeron 847 boards with 8GB ram each for the price of a sabre-lite :-/
<w00tc0d3>
so cubieboard is best decision for downloading ;P
<w00tc0d3>
(SATA)
<w00tc0d3>
ODROID U2 is better in selfbuilt laptops :D

People talk about wandboard having no SATA, but can't you just solder your own header on?
eFfeM has joined #arm-netbook
<mnemoc>
i suppose you can
<mnemoc>
they list "sata" as feature, just that they decided to save a couple of cents
<bfree>
they put the sata port on, but it's not connected to anything (truly perverse) ... and I'm not even sure either of the available modules support sata anyway

<WarheadsSE>
my wandboard has teh sata header attached.
<WarheadsSE>
But, I don't think it is populated
<WarheadsSE>
(pin wise)
<theborger>
WarheadsSE: it says on the web site is is not populated
<WarheadsSE>
yupp
<WarheadsSE>
which is a mild disappointment, but hey
<WarheadsSE>
anyone have a decent pinout map for the hackberry, or pointer to *where* one is.

<Gumboot>
I figured it was just the header, but is there more?
<theborger>

Yeah, so there must be more.
