zub: hno added a watchdog driver some time ago
<zub>
if I feel like trying out 3.4, which branch should I go with? linux-sunxi-3.4?
<zub>

ah, ok

is it safe to de-select all the android drivers (in Staging)?
<zub>
I'd like to have a minimal setup. I tried to fiddle a bit with the allwinner-v3.0-android-v2, removing all multimedia and android things. Got a kernel that booted, but dies within 30 secs.

hno: looks like new PMU stuff make mele a2000 unhappy
<cromo>
hi. did anyone tried to build the empat0 branch of xbmc for A10? I just did, however I get the segmentation fault when starting up.
<hno>
mnemoc, see rz2k paste above. First time I seen anything in boot1 script.bin area.
<hno>
starts at 4240009c
<rz2k>
no idea what MAC doing there. maybe they've changed boot1 location and thats why I have total hang with new commits.
<rz2k>
I just expect all sorts of fail from Allwinner SoCs :>
<hno>
rz2k, it looks sane. Just a little unexpected.

rz2k, you have 1GB ram in your mele?
<hno>
no..
<hno>
script.bin lies. boot1 says it's 512.
<rz2k>
512

How can Lubuntu generate a proper RGB signal over HDMI, with 1280x800 resolution? The fex file says HDMI and 720p50

Undertasker, you got RGB output?
<Undertasker>
With Android, no. YCrCb, so the colours on my DVI Monitor are off. But with Lubuntu, I get RGB colours and aspect ratio is nearly ok.
<Undertasker>
The timing is not really ok, so the monitor gets out of sync here and there
<Undertasker>
The screen utility of Lubuntu says 1280x800, I cant change it to something else. When I use A10_display, the screen goes black, regardless of what option I chose.
<hno>
The resolution and output can be set runtime using ioctls. Check if there is anything in rc.local or similar
<Undertasker>
hm

I think I have a problem starting framebuffer. I don't even know where to start, there's not /dev/fb0, framebuffer is compiled as module (CONFIG_FB_SUNXI=m) and I think relevant modules loaded (cfbcopyarea, cfbimgblt, cfbfillrect). There's no /dev/fbX device however
<cromo>
hmm, I have a problem with lirc, or setserial to be more precise. It hangs the system on "restoring the saved-state of the serial devices". any ideas?
<rm>
afgdsgh, why not just get an A10-based device? do your tasks require higher performance (quad-core)?

rm, so ubuntu will work fine on a10 device?
<afgdsgh>
how ubtuntuu works on a10 processor, full comfortable?
<hno>
afgdsgh, Linux distributions runs on most ARM boards today, but as rm said there is issues with hardware acceleration (3D, 2D accel, Video) on nearly all of them. A10 is no miracle boy in that crowd.

<afgdsgh>
oh, so there will be problems with watching movies/full hd etc..?
<Turl>
yes
<Turl>
if you want something to watch video, there was a cheap box being sold and supported by the xbmc people
<afgdsgh>
oh which one?
<Turl>
I don't remember the name :|
<orly_owl>
boxee?
<Turl>
no, boxee doesn't run xbmc
<afgdsgh>
but is it only for watching movies? i need something universal to do many things
<Turl>
I think it was called pivos or something like that
