<zarvox> Yeah. A storage node hit an EMFILE mid-transaction and aborted. Cluster master noticed the storage node wasn't responding to requests, and rebooted it. Storage node is back up, but all the caches were cold, so things start up a little bit slowly.

<zarvox> Ahhh. Yeah, most software doesn't handle OOM conditions, after all, since kernel COW paging and vm overcommit make it unlikely that OOM will be indicated by failing malloc() and more likely that OOM will be indicated by SIGKILL.

<dwrensha> What I'm trying to do is to set a memory limit somewhat above what is needed for normal operation
