<uppermgmt>
do you guys think sandstorm makes sense for a permanent say wordpress blog across things like upgrades and such? (i'd assume you'd export your data, trash the grain, create a new one for the new version, and then update your dns cname)
<dwrensha>
uppermgmt: wordpress upgrades work fine within sandstorm's app upgrade system
<dwrensha>
the spk author (in this case me) just needs to make a new spk
<uppermgmt>
dwrensha: whoah you can upgrade a container without destroying the data?
<dwrensha>
inside the sandbox, /var/ is per-grain writable storage
<uppermgmt>
that is awesome, thanks
<dwrensha>
everything else is read-only app storage
<uppermgmt>
that always troubled me a little about investing heavily in using it, great feature
<dwrensha>
uppermgmt: admittedly, it's common practice in PHP to have directories with code that also need to be writable
<dwrensha>
which goes against the grain in Sandstorm, pun intended
<uppermgmt>
lol

<asheesh>
Hi uppermgmt
<asheesh>
lemme see
<uppermgmt>
asheesh: hi! ty
<asheesh>
uppermgmt: That looks like a Sadnstorm bug maybe.
<asheesh>
I mean a sandcats bug.
<uppermgmt>
uh oh
<asheesh>
It's weird though.
<asheesh>
Is this the whole transcript?
<asheesh>
Also is it OK if I debug this in an hour or so? Sorry about the mess though.
<uppermgmt>
no i snipped portions
<uppermgmt>
absolutely no rush, ty for looking
<uppermgmt>
let me know if you'd like a github issue or anything
<asheesh>
If you can email me the whole thing, via support@sandstorm.io, that'll help me out.
<uppermgmt>
ok sure
<asheesh>
Yeah, or a github issue against github.com/sandstorm-io/sandstorm
