hi!
<shomon>
I'm on sandstorm and I've just installed a gitlab grain.. is there any documentation on how to connect to it? or faq/wiki page? I tried searching but it doesn't give me much..

ah well I got rid of that one and now I have one that lets me actually clone a repo :) I guess it was a glitch in the matrix/storm/etc
<shomon>
does anyone know where I can upload my public key or configure a way for a team to be on there..

OK I *think* I've done all the things required to tell people how to handle the vagrant-spk/debian base box breakage.
<asheesh>
zarvox / mnutt / others who care: feel free to have further opinions and/or actions for me to take.
<asheesh>
I *could* go around submitting pull requests to everyone, but I think that's not needed.
<mnutt>
nope, it looks good to me. if you have an old base box you actually have no action required as long as you don’t update it, but that’s probably not worth mentioning.
<asheesh>
The one thing I'm worried about is people with old versions of vagrant-spk not noticing this.
<asheesh>
But yeah, I guess they probably have old base boxes and won't run 'vagrant box update' so they will magically not have any problems hopefully.

<dwrensha>
wow, how did I not know about the existence of xxd until just now?
<maurer>
dwrensha: If you were unaware, be sure to check out xxd -r
<maurer>
it's super useful for manually typing binary stuff
<M-eternaleye>
Hi, my sandstorm instance on 137 seems to be unable to renew its cert - and in the log, it's printing "Submitting certificate request for host HIDDEN.sandcats.i where the request has length 922"
<M-eternaleye>
Note the .i rather than .io
<asheesh>
M-eternaleye: Fascinating.
<asheesh>
I wonder if I somehow introduced a critical bug in renewal.

eternaleye: Can you share with me your /opt/sandstorm/sandstorm.conf ?
<eternaleye>
After the "Submitting" message, it seems to just loop on the "no key yet, retry in three seconds" forever
<asheesh>
Yeah...
<asheesh>
Can I get you to
<asheesh>
sudo service sandstorm stop
<asheesh>
sudo service sandstorm start
<asheesh>
and I'll watch the sandcats logs?
<eternaleye>
Sure - BTW, it creates the var/sandcats/https/... directories with the correct name
<eternaleye>
Restarted
<eternaleye>
Submitting
<asheesh>
Weirdly I don't even see your host communicating with the sandcats.io main machine. Hmm.
<asheesh>
SANDCATS_BASE_DOMAIN=castus.sandcats.io
<asheesh>
You need this to be
<asheesh>
SANDCATS_BASE_DOMAIN=sandcats.io
<asheesh>
props to @zarvox for noticing this
<eternaleye>
Well, earlier (when it was on 4443) it was failing with ECONNREFUSED, but now it's not
<eternaleye>
Ah
<eternaleye>
Restarted again
<asheesh>
Things look better now (-:
<eternaleye>
Yep
<eternaleye>
Weird how it was trimming off the "o" though
<asheesh>
Agreed
<asheesh>
We should probably log where it's sending the request to, though, to avoid this problem!
<asheesh>
I'll file a bug about this.
<eternaleye>
...hm. "An error occurred during a connection to castus.sandcats.io. The OCSP server has no status for the certificate. (Error code: sec_error_ocsp_unknown_cert)"
<eternaleye>
Well this is going to be a fun one.
<asheesh>
Chrome vs. Firefox
<asheesh>
It'll work in Chrome now; it'll work in Firefox in 10 minutes
<eternaleye>
Firefox
<eternaleye>
I don't have chrome
<eternaleye>
Ah
<asheesh>
Chromium!
<asheesh>
(I use Chromium.)
<eternaleye>
Takes forever to build!
<eternaleye>
(I'm on Exherbo)
<asheesh>
If it takes >10 minutes, then you can just wait for GlobalSign's OCSP responder to get the data it needs (-:
<eternaleye>
Heh
<asheesh>
You could optionally disable OCSP checking in Firefox, but I am not going to sit here suggesting you muck with about:config because then I might be responsible for helping you undo such changes (-:
<eternaleye>
Believe me, that would not be the most invasive change I've done in there
<eternaleye>
Part of it is that "sandcats base domain" says (to me) "the base domain under which SNIs will be generated" - perhaps "sandcats issuer domain" would be better?
<eternaleye>
Also, any chance of growing the ability for admins to delete users?
<dwrensha>
eternaleye: I think we're first going to add the ability for users to delete themselves
<eternaleye>
Fair enough, that works for my use as well - I have multiple users for myself dating from before linking more identities was supported
