grmbl. checked the assignment of SWD_DIO/CLK about a dozen times. looked right each time. but chip didn't respond on SWD. now i flipped them, just to see since i could find nothing else to blame. and see, it works !

DocScrutinizer05: naw, the naming is constant. but i guess i get confused with all the mapping: pin to via, via to TP, TP to (improvised) connector, connector to UBB, and SD signal back to SWD signal name.
