wpwrak: good morning ;-) if your comment on the list was about fpgatools, I think the main thing to think about are use cases
<wolfspraul>
I see fpgatools as just another of many tools, nothing special unless people want something from it
<wolfspraul>
right now I'm working with distributed memory, after that block memory (not much news there)
<wolfspraul>
the biggest missing pieces right now are multiply-accumulate, and pll/dcm
<wolfspraul>
if anybody has ideas what kind of things to run in a chip, as a digital design whether in an fpga or asic, please holler :-)
<wolfspraul>
my main purpose remains learning and having fun, and it fulfills that already

wolfspraul: heh, i didn't hide it very well, did i ;-)
<wpwrak>
and yes, use cases sound great. not sure if we have many among ourselves, though. sometimes, you just have to do what you feel is right. others will then add meat to it.
<wpwrak>
of course, this only works sometimes.
<wpwrak>
but a proof of concept may go a long way already. in fact, i don't know what itches current fpga users unhappy with the existing tools may wish to scratch.
<wpwrak>
it's just that i have total confidence in my instinct telling me that there must be considerable grumbling in the fpga user community. and a few may find it worth their time to try secession.

I think it is past the grumbling stage, it's more in the cursing stage ;)

viric: likewise
<larsc>
had to leave early to get main train
<larsc>
and still im stranded in frankfurt now :/
<larsc>
because deutsche bahn is unable to dock two trains
<wpwrak>
DB = DeBacle ?
<larsc>
probably
<larsc>
after 30 minutes of trying they decided to just move everybody from one train to the other and continue without docking
<larsc>
which of course meant I missed my connecting train by 10 minutes
<larsc>
at least I get free breakfast
<viric>
ha
<viric>
weird
<larsc>
at least I was wise enough to pack clothing for one extra day
<viric>
yes
<viric>
but where are you going to sleep?
<viric>
In the train?
<larsc>
no, they are paing a hotel
<wpwrak>
it's good to know that train travel in .de nowadays requires the same level of preparation as very long-distance air travel
<wpwrak>
at least all the money they saved by not providing a working service is still available for things like paying hotels :)
<larsc>
everybody knows that this docking procedure doesn't work, it fails like 1 out of 3 times
<wpwrak>
around here, that wouldn't happen ... (and in three weeks, we'll have the anniversary of the Once crash)
<viric>
I don't understand 'docking'
<larsc>
viric: they take two trains and make one out of it
