DocScrutinizer05: can you summarize for us auslanders?
<amatus>
sounds bad to me
<ndnihil>
that's the tone I'm getting, but I'm not recognizing enough words to get the big picture

They explain that reserves are normal and needed and that they won't change the reserve on Neo900 account.

Not exactly surprising. I think the lawyer I contracted didn't do a good job explaining to PP _why_ the reserve is inappropriate. She only tried to explain to PP that they don't act according to german laws. Which I massively doubt they would be silly enough to actually do, they had a cohort of lawyers checking their fineprint before they published it
<ndnihil>
hrm
<ndnihil>
so what's the plan moving forward?

I'm sending a letter to them now, not to the lawyers' department but to the risk management, explaining them that we are crowdfunding

OCR FTW

"The reserve is reasonable bla bla bla to allow for possible chargebacks bla bla bla we do security audits to mitigate potential risks bla bla bla, we love our customers."
<Arch-TK>
So literally nothing in that letter is new.
<amatus>
and by "customers" they mean the people giving them money
<Arch-TK>
Whoops, accidentally closed i3
<bencoh>
bottom line is, they should go to hell
<Arch-TK>
That letter sounds a bit like they're playing dumb
<ndnihil>
they're pricks
<Arch-TK>
like they only just found out that DocScrutinizer05 is unhappy.
<edwin>
whats the part about the investigation?

<edwin>
does it say anything useful about releasing the account (wird das Konto freigegeben)
<Arch-TK>
edwin: https://ptpb.pw/weJ2 - I ocrd it, now you just need to find some translation tool :P
<Arch-TK>
and the address is also now https://ptpb.pw/lpl0 - I'm not sure why ptpb.pw's update functionality doesn't keep the url the same.

amazing that I can just pacman an OCR program and it just works.
<Arch-TK>
I wonder how many ads I would have to click through and how many weird EULAs I would have to accept and how many viruses I would have to download before I found a decent OCR program.
<Arch-TK>
on windows.
<Arch-TK>
I remember from when I used windows that the first thing you did when you tried to download a program you wanted was scroll through half a page of google results to find the ACTUAL website for the ACTUAL program
<Arch-TK>
instead of the 10 websites which reupload it with some weird downloader you have to download and install to "download" the program.
<Arch-TK>
And then, the only decently working tool would cost $50 and the free options would barely do anything useful.
<Arch-TK>
I definitely don't miss those days.
<amatus>
it's still like that
<amatus>
i tried to use a website that only worked in IE, then i wanted to print it out and tried to search for a print-to-pdf driver
<Arch-TK>
Not on linux.
<amatus>
software hell
<amatus>
(i had windows in a throw-away vm of course)
<Arch-TK>
And thankfully at work I never need to download anything other than vim and cygwin / mingw.
<DocScrutinizer05>
Arch-TK: which OCR are you using?
