<bobthecow> guardian: crap, really?
<bobthecow> oh, i compiled it in a different timezone.
<bobthecow> hrm.
<ddfreyne> Hmmm
<ddfreyne> bobthecow: Are your date attributes local to the current timezone?
<bobthecow> my date attributes have timezones attached:
<bobthecow> created_at: '2013-02-20T12:57:13-08:00'
<bobthecow> so it loads that up, then compiles using the current timezone.
<bobthecow> and since i'm in china right now, my computer is in that timezone.
<bobthecow> guardian: recompiled and pushed a version that resets the ids back to what they were.
<bobthecow> thanks for the heads up.
* ddfreyne scratches head
<bobthecow> ddfreyne: my posts all have a uuid (for disqus)
<bobthecow> if the feed helper let me pass a proc for specifying an item's feed id, i'd be set.
<ddfreyne> pull request! :D
<bobthecow> "urn:uuid:#{item[:uuid]}"
<ddfreyne> I smashed my thumb with a hammer yesterday. TYping is hard.
<bobthecow> 'course, this would mean that all my feed items' ids would change *again*
<ddfreyne> :(
<bobthecow> ddfreyne: i've actually been wondering about this for a while.
<bobthecow> does it make sense to hard-code a timezone in nanoc config?
<bobthecow> my workaround so far has been to notice when my output diff is more than i expected, then go reset my computer's timezone manually and recompile.
<bobthecow> but sometimes i forget and/or miss it.
<ddfreyne> bobthecow: I think nanoc should assume UTC

<guardian> bobthecow: if your date attributes have timezones attached, when compiling from a different timezone they shouldn't change right?
<ddfreyne> Yeah something is broken here
<stbuehler> TZ=UTC nanoc compile? :)
<ddfreyne> But that should be standard
<ddfreyne> By default
