<guardian> musicmatze & ddfreyne: I know you like C, I did this http://pempek.net/articles/2013/08/03/packedarray-random-access-array-tightly-packed-unsigned-integers/ — maybe it could be also useful to you

<Zero_Dogg> Is there any simple way to, in a layout, include a separate file depending on which page is being built? (section-specific menu)

<bobthecow> Zero_Dogg: yes.
<bobthecow> it's probably better to switch it up in the rules, though.
<Zero_Dogg> Right, so add a route per subsection would probably be easiest then?
<bobthecow> yes, probably.
<bobthecow> without a bit better idea what you're doing, it's hard for me to give specific answers :)
<bobthecow> *generally*, rather than changing things in layouts based on the item, you should change things in rules.
<Zero_Dogg> Aye, I am currently converting one of my older pages. It has one main top menu for the entire site, and a left submenu that changes based upon the subpart /foo has one /bar has one, /foo/bar uses /foo's menu
<bobthecow> sometimes that means having a rule per item type, sometimes it means having a dynamic rule that uses different layouts depending on the item.
<bobthecow> in that case, i'd do a rule for /foo/* and a rule for /bar/*
<bobthecow> since that's the most straightforward.
<Zero_Dogg> sounds like a plan, thanks
<bobthecow> depending on your html output, you can probably use multiple layouts per rule to accomplish what you're looking for, too.
<Zero_Dogg> does any docs cover this a bit more in depth than the intro docs?
<bobthecow> i dunno.
<bobthecow> something like that ^
<bobthecow> make sense?
