this happens on an H6 with 256MB CMA reserved and running an app that uses cedrus
jbrown has quit [Ping timeout: 246 seconds]

^ the same messages are seen with the Amlogic VDEC, so it's prob. something to do with GBM
<rellla>
chewitt, it happens when cedrus wants to get cma memory for video decoding. from time to time i've got random segfaults here, and i wonder if this is somehow related to eachother
<chewitt>
I don't see segfaults with the Amlogic vdec
<chewitt>
It can/does fail to decode things, but that's a more general issue and I don't see faults

Hi, can someone with a Pine64-LTS check how latest kernels (5.12-rc2+) play with that?
<apritzel>
I got reports that the SD card detect switch is actually inverted. The schematic indeed shows a transistor wired as an inverter, but there is an option to disable that
<apritzel>
(a resistor marked as NC/0R)

<apritzel>
an easy test would be "gpio input PF6" on the U-Boot prompt, and doing that with and without an SD card inserted
<apritzel>
or actually booting Linux from SD card, or at least trying to access an SD card from Linux

montjoie_ is now known as montjoie
<apritzel>
montjoie_: well, this is apparently one of the differences
<apritzel>
montjoie: and the DT change merged was explicitly only for the LTS (and the SOPine)
<apritzel>
montjoie: but thanks for the offer
<montjoie>
hard to have the complete sunxi collection
<buZz>
hehe
<buZz>
that would be cool
<buZz>

apritzel: which problem reported on list ?
<apritzel>
montjoie: actually private email only: the Pine64-LTS SD card operation seems to be broken since 5.12-rc1
<apritzel>
I am just trying to figure out if there are multiple versions of the Pine64-LTS, with different polarities of the card detect switch
ldevulder has joined #linux-sunxi
<wens>
apritzel: I thought you already sent a fix for it?
<apritzel>
wens: yeah, don't ask, total blunder: this fix was a change for the SOPine, but I kept the Pine64-LTS as active-low
<apritzel>
and I thought that someone else tested that on the Pine64-LTS as well
<apritzel>
but there is at least one report now where the CD switch is active high :-(

<anarsoul>
apritzel: did someone add CD pin to pine64-lts dts?
<apritzel>
anarsoul: actually there was always a CD pin in there, but the non-removable shadowed it
<apritzel>
anarsoul: interesting, what's your observation? is it always stuck?
<anarsoul>
I don't remember, but I can check later today
<apritzel>
anarsoul: if you could try "gpio input pf6" on the U-Boot prompt, I'd be grateful
<apritzel>
years ago I thought it was deliberately disabled, but then I figured that there should be a switch (schematic), and mine is just mechanically broken (bent)
<apritzel>
I think I did make it work once by poking around with a sharp tool

not sure if it's an early version, but mine says the same
sunshavi has joined #linux-sunxi
<apritzel>
anarsoul: alright, many thanks!
<anarsoul>
I've got it from TL as well, but IIRC it was already in production
<anarsoul>
so likely it's not a dev version
<apritzel>
yeah, similar here, I think I got it quite late in the game
<apritzel>
maybe he gave them away for a reason ;-)
<apritzel>
but anyway I guess this means we need to re-introduce non-removable to the LTS DT, as there are different versions out there, with different switch behaviour
<anarsoul>
