hlauer: Samsung P1100C, for example, keeps its output on
<hlauer>
thx! just be shure: can it be connected directly to the power input of a bananapi and then the device will stay on even when the power input of the bank is disconnected or reconnected?

oh ... good you asked, I misunderstood the question. I've just tried to disconnect ext. power input with pi3 and the pi apparently died for around 1 second. Sorry to disappoint you

thanks for the links. Looking for something simple, so the capacitator may be worth a try
<hlauer>
another idea: are there USB Y cables available with two inputs (and diodes inside) ?

<karlp>
only usb-y cables i'v eseen are very much not dioded, because they're for old 3g modems or harddrives that needd more power, not power hot swapp
<mru>
and very much not spec compliant
<karlp>
hell no :)
<karlp>
neither is rockchip's usb-a-a cables :(
<mru>
I have one that's both
<mru>
a-a and y
<karlp>
what was that intended for origianlly?
<mru>
came with an eval board for a simcom 3g module
<karlp>
yuck.

why didn't the board have a B port? was it OTG pre OTG stuff?

afaik the banana power input is power lines connected only, so soldering a y cable seems a good option. thanks for the input

<jernej>
has anyone by any chance schematic for NanoPi M1 Plus2 (H5)?
<ElBarto>
the M1 Plus (no 2) schematics says H3/H5 so maybe it's the same ?
<jernej>
hm... layout seems pretty much the same
<jernej>
but on my board explicitly says M1 Plus 2
<jernej>
so I guess there is some difference but maybe same DT works
<jernej>
but there is no M1 Plus H5 DT in mainline :)

jernej: maybe join #friendlyelec and ask the guys there -- though while typing this I noticed the main person you probably want to ask isn't currently idling in there for some reason.

thanks
