ddc: I finally built your u-boot. it detects the nand but nothing else seems to work. no reading writing scrubbing. it's all bad blocks. For some reason the fdt commands don't work out of the box. I would have expected it to now where the device tree is. I think the dtb got included properly since it finds the nand chip.
<quitte>
Also it once complained about the missing dtb...

Hi, did anyone ever captured video using a USB capture device (pixelview Xcapture) on a Cubieboard-2 (A20)?
<Weber>
I can load the drivers successfully (cx231xx) but not being able to actually capture video.
<Weber>
I get a driver error when trying to capture: cx231xx: Usb interface::sendCommand, failed with status --71 \cx231xx: can't change interface 4 alt no. to 0 (err=-71)

hello
<hramrach_>
can you flash an AW device from Linux?
<hramrach_>
my tablet does not boot :/
<ricardocrudo>
I'm built u-boot from sunxi repo and I deploy it to sdcard. I'm using the cubieboard2 config. After some booting information it stops on "Waiting for root device /dev/mmcblk0p1"
<ricardocrudo>
any idea?

hramrach_: livesuite should work if you have an image for it
<hramrach_>
mripard: my tablet nand is bitrotten and I need to run android for testing
<hramrach_>
I have an image but don't know how to get it on the device
<hramrach_>
recovery flash does not seem to work
<hramrach_>
I can enter fel but livesuit does not recognize device
bonbons has quit [Quit: Leaving]
<hramrach_>
is current livesuit still able to flash A13?
<mripard>
I have no idea, I never used it. But how is that related to a cubieboard A10 and sunxi-next?
<hramrach_>
GetFelPrivateData Failed id = 0
<hramrach_>
DevicePlugIn PnpFelIn failed 449
<hramrach_>
in no way
<hramrach_>
ok, it's on the same table but I don't think it makes it related enough

<mripard>
guys, seriously, when you have issues booting sunxi-next or linux-next, or any mainline kernel version
<mripard>
*please* report it
<mripard>
otherwise, we have no way to actually know that you face this issue, and it only brings frustration to everyone.
<alpha_one_x86>
where, and how? (guide?)
<mripard>
linux-arm-kernel, linux-sunxi and me
<alpha_one_x86>
Then I restart: I have tryied all solution, but my usual config on arm don't work: dtb appends, console UART + Early_printk
<Vanfanel>
mripard: do you know if the changes in this repository (https://github.com/mireq/linux-sunxi) are going to be mainlined? This kernel works with r4p0 MALI drivers!!
<hramrach_>
mripard: I have no idea if it's kernel problem or problem fitting u-boot + kernel + dtb in memory
<quitte>
alpha_one_x86: fdt_high=ffffffff ?
<hramrach_>
I am not running mainline u-boot so getting help with this config upstream is going to be difficult
<mripard>
alpha_one_x86: someone asked you an hour ago to give us the bootlogs.
<alpha_one_x86>
quitte: not tryied because it's marked in case of old uboot
<hramrach_>
and I try to stop by here asking if anyone knows how to debug this from time to time
<quitte>
alpha_one_x86: it's 2014
<mripard>
hramrach_: not on the linux side of things
<hramrach_>
I don't even know if the linux runs
<alpha_one_x86>
I finish the compil and I give you all of that's
<hramrach_>
so I don't even know if I have any linux side of things whatsoever
<afaerber>
hramrach_, lacking context here, but have you tried peeking at __log_buf from U-Boot?
<mripard>
Vanfanel: I have no idea, that would be great
<quitte>
alpha_one_x86: i needed fdt_high in august
<alpha_one_x86>
a...
<alpha_one_x86>
then I finish the compilation and I try

<afaerber>
hramrach_, if you figure out the address of __log_buf symbol in vmlinux, you can dump that memory after reset from the u-boot prompt
<Vanfanel>
mripard: I have that kernel running here and I can use r4p0 on the cubie2. It allows RetroArch to emulate snes at fullspeed using GLES2 on FBDEV, no latency :)
<alpha_one_x86>
Vanfanel: interresting
<hramrach_>
afaerber: cubieboard lacks a reset button so I guess this is not going to work
konradoo77 has joined #linux-sunxi
<afaerber>
hramrach_, no GPIO pins to short-circuit either?
<hramrach_>
but I guess I can try booting on CT and if it fails also use logbuf there
<hramrach_>
afaerber: I am not aware of any way to reset the board other than powering it down
<hramrach_>
hmm, ok

presumably if sdxc was not supported u-boot would not reads the kernel whic is not the case
<alpha_one_x86>
Kernel low-level debugging port (Kernel low-level debugging messages via sunXi UART0), (0x01c28000) Physical base address of debug UART, (0xf1c28000) Virtual base address of debug UART, [*] Early printk
Sutter_Cain has quit [Remote host closed the connection]

<hramrach_>
afaerber: ok, my __log_buf is zero
<hramrach_>
so either the dram controller does not hold contents while reinitialized or the kernel indeed never runs
<afaerber>
hramrach_, or the kernel fails so early that it doesn't log
<afaerber>
one example could be a bootloader passing a machine id that the kernel does not understand
