<lvrp16> is there a wiki page or something with the status of upstreaming support and what work still remains?
<lvrp16> for varioius chips?
<lvrp16> adj__: nothing on rk3229?
<adj__> lvrp16, not that I know
<lvrp16> adj__: thanks

<wzyy2> That Mainline Kernel Status Matrix is rough... If someone can provide rk3229 status to me, i can add them to wiki.

<paulk-gagarine> wzyy2, is rk3229 going to be documented (trm, datasheet) on the wiki as well?

<susedv> I see a wrong pixel clock in dmesg: rk3288-lcdc lcdc0: lcdc0: dclk:118800000>>fps:66. It should be 108MHz for 1280x1024p@60. I think it can be fixed in struct rk3288_apll_table[] in http://git.us.linux-rockchip.org/cgit/rk3288_r-box_android4.4.2_sdk/tree/kernel/drivers/clk/rockchip/clk-pll.c but I don't understand the values (_mhz, nr, nf, no), anybody knows?

<linaro__> hi
<linaro__> i am using tinkerboard with tinkerOS. how i can see, that i am using the modernst/most compatible Linux-image ?
<linaro__> i see a graphical low-ing on gui. so small lagging. i think it is not normal, but it is the right Operating System hmmmm!???
<linaro__> and my monitor is going switch off after eeehhmm 10minutes. but then the monitor is switch on automatical, promptly
<Ke> at least upstream linux-4.9 works quite well with rk3288/chromebook c201
<linaro__> so i am a lil bit confused and :(((( i hope a more compatible low-cost-computer, and now i see - the tinker/OS is not really TOP!:((
<Ke> outside of kernel debian runs just fine, if you do not need graphics acceleration
<linaro__> ja, i want gui
<Ke> I use vanilla kernel 4.9/debian
<Ke> I do have gui, just no graphics acceleration
<Ke> video rescale does not work, if you have a bad software implementation and obviously some games
<linaro__> i had armbian, but there i had hard problems after fresh installation, too. hdmi complete switched off,,, and later black screen at/on/ switch on the tinkerboard :(
<linaro__> hmm i do not need games. but ja hardware acceleration is not working. i think so
<linaro__> but i see if i move the gui windows. that is not high quality
<linaro__> or videos at youtube. it is lagging
<Ke> yup
<Ke> but mpv works, if you use vo=x11
<linaro__> it is annoying in irc too. the next lines are lagging. that is unnice to watching
<Ke> also most youtube videos are watchable, if you don't use fullscreen
<linaro__> if u say me: what command in terminal. so i could give you some system informations. so i know only: uname -r = 4.4.71+ and "lsb_release" = no lsb modules are available
<Ke> linaro__: you could try out a wm that does not do compositing
<Ke> alternative a distro that supports gpu acceleration
<linaro__> my resolution is: 1680x1050. but on asus website: tinkerboard has 4k

mrueg has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<linaro__> i had try tinkerOSplus image, there i had more problems, as like as tinkerOs without plus now
<linaro__> what is wm?
mrueg has joined #linux-rockchip
<Ke> linaro__: it's completely different thing to be able to encode 4K signal from a buffer compared to be able to update that buffer with new data all the time
<Ke> encoder specs almost certainly list the highest resolution they support even though using it might not be practical

<linaro__> puhh
<linaro__> what is the best trick?
<linaro__> i think waiting and hope for better updates
<linaro__> but if exist the perfect update. what can i do? how i have a notice?
<linaro__> every day try: apt-get update and apt-get upgrade . every day/week?
<linaro__> or this kind of upgrade will not being in the apt-get update ? so that i have check an other location hmmm in the computer system

<linaro__> if i look at synaptic: i can find linux-image 4.9 armmp
<linaro__> why there it is?
<linaro__> i think i have armhf! hmm
<linaro__> but what is the different?
<linaro__> it is dangerous to installing it?

<kloczek> guys I have question about overheating or cooling sd cards
tllim has quit [Ping timeout: 255 seconds]
<kloczek> Up to now I've been using USB 2.0 SD card adapters but reading or writing even 8GB cards takes very long time
<kloczek> So I come with idea to buy USB 3.0 SD card adapter and it works waaaay faster
cyteen_ has quit [Ping timeout: 248 seconds]
<kloczek> only issue is that writing with USB 3.0 speed is causing release a lot of heat and I found that after writing 8GB card is causing that card is seriously HOT
<kloczek> Q1: how to throttle R/W speed using for example dd?
<kloczek> Q2: maybe someone saw USB 3.0 SD card adapter which is able to cool down SD card during use?
