amstan_ is now known as amstan
<amstan>
mmind00: i assume you'll be working on it too
<mmind00>
amstan: hehe sure ... we even have some initial mainline patches from Rockchip on the lists
<amstan>
how's your minnie? got any better software on it?
<amstan>
mine got worse after the kde5 upgrades
<mmind00>
amstan: yep ... the old mali binary doesn't like kde5/qt5 at all it seems
<amstan>
like it works... it's not very stable though, crashes from time to time
<mmind00>
amstan: yeah, I'm seeing a lot of EGL errors, like it cannot find a suitable config to begin with
<amstan>
you know what would be cool?
<amstan>
making a wrapper around the freon drivers
<mmind00>
you mean like chromeos does with the powervr stuff?
<amstan>
i have no idea what that entails, but it'll guarantee drivers as long as chromeos supports the hardware
<mmind00>
although hacky ;-) ... nevertheless that seems to be the solution used on Oak (powervr), which uses some sort of mesa-shim on top of the GLES binaries
<amstan>
ok, so what it'll mean is that on oak, one will load X, use the freon wrapper to load the freon drivers, which are another wrapper on the GLES binaries
<amstan>
it'll be so fast ;)
<mmind00>
:-D ... in any case, that is something for userspace-inclined people ... right now my inbox is overflowing with patches I need to look at
<amstan>
i know it's for userspace inclined people, but i've been saying that since the summer, and my minnie setup didn't really get better by itself
<mmind00>
alternatively try to get someone with access to the DDK to fix the X-build ;-)
<mmind00>
or is X completly gone now already?

<amstan>
mmind00: it's there but last time i got emails it was broken
<amstan>
or... maybe it's gone
<amstan>
but it's easy to add in back(once it gets fixed to compile)
