dv_, hey. about using gstreamer-imx for rendering a background image/movie a Qt5 application, I can hook into Qt5's rendering loop, and do stuff before Qt5 starts drawing in the framebuffer. Would it be possible to "single-step" the gstreamer pipe-line, and make it draw one single frame at a time, on command ?

I figured since I should be able to render full hd movies on the imx6, maybe it would be more efficient to use the vpu to render the background image ?

for my case, it seems unnecessary to first decode the video into one memory area, and then use the gpu to write the same data to the framebuffer
