<hste> dv_: havn't tested it much, but cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp is lower about 42 (showing in mC) running glxgears, It was about 52 with 3.0.35

<hste_> This is a very nice project for imx6 that hopefully will get us a better open gpu support http://www.crowdsupply.com/kosagi/novena-open-laptop

<obinou> hste_: yes but very very expensive for the average joe :-(
<obinou> nevertheless, we may benefit from that indirectly , thought the graphic drivrs for example
<hste_> obinou: yes thats why its nice for all imx6 users
<hste_> The kernel work from jnettlet and rmk is promising, and also dv_'s work on the vpu etc
<obinou> nice \o/
<obinou> The work on the graphic driver is much needed for versatility & stability, and the VPU still has performance issues from what I could experience
<obinou> I'm trying to create a consumer-ready imx6-based mediaplayer, for now it's too unstable
<obinou> Youtube play fails, some files fails to read (or crash),...

<dv_> what performance issues?
<dv_> are you using html5 for that mediaplayer? based on what, chromium, firefox?

<hste> jas-hacks: used your 3.10.17 beta rootfs and updated with 1.0.0 libs. Working ok :)
<jas-hacks> hste: great! when I get some free time will look at making a proper one
<Er0l> cheers to both jas and hste :)
<raumzeit> if I may comment on that... I had this problem with GA libs and latest xf86-video-vivante EXA driver. To get the xorg video driver working I had topatch some lines from beta back to the GA sources.
<raumzeit> It would be interesting if any of you gets it working without a patch
<hste> raumzeit: its working for me:http://pastebin.com/Xc32bWg2
<raumzeit> which Xorg exa driver are you using?
<hste> raumzeit: I'm using the one from the betajas-hacks built and the gl-libs from 1.0.0
<raumzeit> i c... then I am not sooo much surprised that it works ;)
<hste> :)
<raumzeit> I have archlinux withall GA release stuff running... But the EXA driver for x11 refused to work...
<raumzeit> However, after patching the driver sources it is running fine now
<hste> thats nice
<hste> raumzeit: have u added the vpu stuff also?
<raumzeit> I installed the vpu stuff too, but havent tested it yet...
<hste> raumzeit: have u tried glmark2 ?
<raumzeit> havent compiled that... glxgears and es2_gears are running fine, however
<raumzeit> $ glxgears
<raumzeit> 1221 frames in 5.0 seconds = 244.116 FPS
<hste> in 1080p?
<raumzeit> hehe, no
<raumzeit> 248 frames in 5.0 seconds = 49.575 FPS @ 1080p
<hste> what cflags etc are u using?
<raumzeit> cflagsfor what?
<hste> like vfp neon etc?
<raumzeit> do you mean the one's used for the EXA driver? Because I haven't recompiled mesa/glxinfo etc...
<raumzeit> for EXA I just used default flags
<raumzeit> CFLAGS="-march=armv7-a -mfloat-abi=hard -mfpu=vfpv3-d16 -O2 -pipe -fstack-protector --param=ssp-buffer-size=4"
<raumzeit> CXXFLAGS="-march=armv7-a -mfloat-abi=hard -mfpu=vfpv3-d16 -O2 -pipe -fstack-protector --param=ssp-buffer-size=4"
<hste> ok
<raumzeit> these are the default flags for the archlinuxarm package system

<dv_> obinou: check if the movies that cause problems are using h264 high or main profile
<dv_> obinou: these can use B-frames, which can easily cause problems
<dv_> I think I have worked around them, but do not know what xbmc does
