can someone explain how one would cut a half sphere out of the face of a cube? i am having real trouble trying to get it to work

i extruded a cube, a new 180 degree circle on a new sketch on a face, revolve, difference and it just interferes

When I add a point to a workplane and constrain it to a line perpendicular to the workplane it still has one degree of freedom, is that expected? I've noticed this with circles as well, I'm always left with one extra DOF. I'm running 3.0-211ae8c
