<companion_cube> hmm aantron, why does lwt depend on omp, if lwt_ppx is a separate package?

<argent_smith> hi ppl. help please. I need to use Format (perhaps Fmt) to output to a fixed-width fields. Why this: `Fmt.pf ppf "|@[@<5>%s@]|@." "blablabla";;` outputs |blablabla| ?
<argent_smith> shouldn't it cut the string?

<steve_gh> Hi. My oasis build system is giving the following error: "ocamlfind: Error from package `threads': Missing -thread or -vmthread switch". How and where should I add the switch? Thxs steve
<octachron> argent_smith, @<d> modifies the size of the specifier but only from the point of view of the formatting engine, e.g. "@[@<1000>%d@ %d@]" breaks the line after the firt integer
<argent_smith> octachron: thnx
<octachron> argent_smith, otherwise there is an open ticket for a similar feature: https://caml.inria.fr/mantis/view.php?id=1565
<octachron> steve_gh, you need to add a thread tag in the _tags file after the oasis section

<steve_gh> Hi. I'm having some issues with mli types signatures. I have a module type Dist_intf = sig module V: Core.Std.Floatable ... etc
<steve_gh> I then declare a functor module Dist : functor (F : Core.Std.Floatable) -> sig module V : Core.Std.Floatable ... etc
<steve_gh> And here is the problem - I get compilation errors when I instantiate my Dist functor. so if I have a DsicreteDist (based off an int) then I get an error - ocaml is epecting an int, but gets a DiscreteDist.V.t
<steve_gh> Ahh - just found the problem. Ignore me!

<an-tuan> hi, i want to know how much cost calling a function 'f' given by an argument, compared to calling a function 'g', defined at toplevel. I looked in the '.s' file and the difference is just some register moves (if I understood correctly), but i do not know if this is costly.
<an-tuan> assuming f and g have the same definition
<an-tuan> alternatively, if you have some suggestions to understand more about these .s, some books or online resources, it is welcomed. thanks
