iirc circuitmaker is EDA-as-a-service, I don't feel happy with that
<DocScrutinizer05>
QUI BONO? Altium wants to sell their commercial EDA software. When they give away something for free, you better *expect* some limitations that will sooner or later make you consider to buy the full Altium package

<DocScrutinizer05>
hello, a computer glitch caused me losing all /query notes, if you had a relevant query with me during last 6 weeks, please /query me again, so my IRC client picks the log from that dump of logs I have
<DocScrutinizer05>
a simple "hello" should suffice
<Arch-TK>
Unless "Apple Pay" is some kind of open technology, nothing I know of accepts anything but "apple pay" and visa cards with NFC
<Arch-TK>
Unless it's possible to spoof an NFC visa card.. I guess why not... unless there is some CR auth going on
<Arch-TK>
I have no clue how any of that works to be honest.

<DocScrutinizer05>
all those NFC payment methods are just starting
<DocScrutinizer05>
the paper expects to see the SIM-secure-element + NFC method, which Neo900 supports, to be here to stay for a long time
<DocScrutinizer05>
yet to be seen who will adopt it
<DocScrutinizer05>
I think there are several usecases where it's already in use
<freemangordon>
TBH I don;t think NFC will make a big share. The problem is that it is MNO who should put bank's application into the SIM (OTA, usually) which makes the bank dependent on that particular MNO. Banks are not happy to being dependent, at least here :)
<freemangordon>
We had a working NFC applet on S3 some 3 years ago, it never went out of the pilot phase. Keep in mind we (as a country) are usually the bleeding edge when it comes to banking technologies
<DocScrutinizer05>
maybe MNOs start to do bank business then
<freemangordon>
this is what they try to, or rather they acquire small banks, but still
<freemangordon>
as your only business as a bank cannot be NFC only
<freemangordon>
s/as/but
<freemangordon>
you can;t make enough profit to keep that business alive
<DocScrutinizer05>
hmm, maybe bank was the wrong term. See Amex and whatever their name
<DocScrutinizer05>
or simply see PayPal
<freemangordon>
but will see, the technology itself looks ok, despite there were 3 versions of the kernel specs for the last 3 years :D
<freemangordon>
well, amex is "american" EU is a different beast
<freemangordon>
I don;t think Visa/Banknet like paypal enough to certify them as issuers, for the simple reason that paypal "steals" their core business
<freemangordon>
anway, /me is going AFK. If luf appears later, please tell him to keep his IRC client online after he pings me :)
<freemangordon>
DocScrutinizer05: ^^^
<DocScrutinizer05>
no, but a MNO could ponder that they can do a similar thing like PayPal did
<freemangordon>
what terminals will be used those NFS cars on?
