<guardian> hmm so nanoc deploy is a thing
<guardian> my output/ folder is a git repo and when I push to origin, there's a post-receive hook that checkouts the files
<guardian> what advantages does nanoc deploy have?

<ddfreyne> guardian: That works too, I guess. nanoc deploy is nice because it integrates with nanoc check, i.e. you can run pre-deployment checks, such as finding broken internal links
<guardian> I see
<ddfreyne> guardian: Writing your own deployer is easy, so you could write one that wraps your git commit + push
<ddfreyne> guardian: e.g. https://github.com/nanoc/nanoc.ws/commit/856da9695642a9ee1a430c7bfab0475116face21 is a changeset where I switched to Amazon S3 using my own deployer
<guardian> that's an idea yes
<ddfreyne> (although I reverted that later)
