<tom[]> ddfreyne: no. locally. i now have a nanoc project in a sub dir of the source tree of a php web app. nanoc generates a whole bunch of static pages and some view files that the php web app uses. i was using deploy to move output files from the nanoc dir to appropriate places but that was silly. i've now achieved the same using the output_dir config var and routing rules.

<ddfreyne> tom[]: Ahh, sounds good
<tom[]> i'm having trouble with my filter
<tom[]> i don't know ruby is the real problem
<tom[]> line 12 is obviously the problem

<ddfreyne> tom[]: the params[] thing is interpreted as a literal string
<tom[]> yeah
<tom[]> i don't know how to make it right

<ddfreyne> tom[]: What you want is probably [ 'yuglify', '--terminal', '--type', params[:type] ]
<ddfreyne> %q(foo bar baz) is an alias for "foo bar baz". I think systemu accepts both a string and an array of string as its first param. An array is easier in this case
<ddfreyne> Other than that, the filter looks good

<tom[]> got it working, thanks
<tom[]> but it has the same disasterous effect on safari as yui_compressor
<ddfreyne> What effect are you speaking about?
<ddfreyne> Oh, the thing you reported?
<tom[]> yes
<tom[]> i'm trying cssmin now
<ddfreyne> AHh :(
<ddfreyne> tom[]: I use Rainpress personally
<tom[]> oh
<tom[]> i had no idea what rainpress was
<tom[]> the documentation for the filter is tautological
<ddfreyne> filter :rainpress
<tom[]> i read through these looking for another css compressor
<ddfreyne> Hmm, I suppose adding a better one-sentence explanation of what each filter does, would not be a luxury
<stbuehler> ddfreyne: maybe. oO.
<ddfreyne> I suppose the updated documentation site (e.g. http://staging.nanoc.ws/docs/reference/filters/) is not much better :P
<stbuehler> :asciidoc - Runs the content through AsciiDoc.
<stbuehler> really? is that what it does?
<ddfreyne> Sarcasm :(
<tom[]> the sooner this fashion for cutsy sw project names is in the past the better
<ddfreyne> I would never use sarcasm. Ever.
<stbuehler> it reminds me of the days students tried explaining what their code does
<ddfreyne> At work there is an internal documentation site with a glossary. It's super useful.
<stbuehler> "if x > 0 then bla end if;" - "if x is greater than zero it executes bla". really?
<tom[]> splendid. rainpress did it
