<TuxRag3r> I'm using nanoc with the :redcloth filter, and every time I write a codeblock, every line in the block is surrounded by <code> tags. Does anyone know how to fix that?

<gour> 'afternoon
<gour> after some time i resumed my search for 'general ssg' and not overly happy with python's offerings...although not knowing ruby, there are 2 strong candidates: nanoc and middleman. has something changed and/or what do you say about https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4929181 ?
<bobthecow> gour: i would tend to disagree ;)
<gour> bobthecow: any particulars?
<bobthecow> i've got a fairly large nanoc site at ~5k items…
<bobthecow> when i first built it, it took around 5 minutes to compile.
<bobthecow> so i dug in a bit, and figured out why.
<gour> i probably won't have such large sites, but who knows - depends on the clients :-)
<bobthecow> now it takes 27 seconds.
<gour> hmm, sounds good
<bobthecow> i
<bobthecow> i've helped other people with similar issues.
<bobthecow> and had similar results.
<gour> which one is more suitable for someone not knowing ruby? it's a pity that most/all python ones are blog-only
<bobthecow> if you know python you know ruby.
<bobthecow> you just have to google method names :)
<gour> heh
<gour> you mean as muc has it's reuired to handle nanoc?
<gour> *much
<gour> is there something, besides disqus, to handle comments and something for site search?
<bobthecow> (re: my comment about knowing python/ruby)
<gour> last commit - May 15, 2008 :-)
<bobthecow> do you know who _why was?
<gour> _why?
<bobthecow> unHoly was one of his projects.
<gour> ohh, not aware of him :-(
<gour> i recall some people disappearing like him, but not sure if he is one of them
<stbuehler> gour: i'm using juvia for comments

<gour> what are some of the things you don't like in middleman which seems to have larger following @github?
<bobthecow> gour: both are very capable, and you wouldn't go wrong with either.
<bobthecow> i happen to like the direction nanoc approaches the problem better, though.
<bobthecow> middleman is fundamentally server with a folder full of files which are transformed on their way out.
<bobthecow> nanoc is fundamentally a set of rules for creating a static site.
<gour> thanks...looking what are options for templating in nanoc...
<bobthecow> anything.
<bobthecow> tilt.
<bobthecow> basically everything ruby uses tilt these days
<bobthecow> wait. just kidding. apparently that is a third party filter :P
<gour> let me check...i'm only aware of django & jinja2
<bobthecow> those are the ones that ship with it.
<bobthecow> mustache is fairly similar to jinja, minus the pipe notation.
<bobthecow> it's a super-simplified jinja.
<gour> good
<bobthecow> you're prolly best off with erb though.
<gour> 4.0 is far away?
<bobthecow> you'd have to ask ddfreyne, and he's got internet woes right now.
<bobthecow> apparently he moved to berlin and assumed it was a civilized city that could get his interwebs connected in a timely fashion :P
<gour> lol
