<ysionneau> kristian1aul: not yet, I stalled my work on NetBSD kernel a little bit, because someone convinced me to implement ASID support for the MMU
<ysionneau> so now I'm back on hdl
<ysionneau> and I'm stuck on a weird bug
<ysionneau> and I lack time to investigate
<ysionneau> :/

<lekernel> ysionneau, one of the USB design goals is maximum pain for developers. so of course, hubs are not transparent.
<ysionneau> ahah :)

<kristian1aul> ysionneau: but the rtems port still maintained by you?

<ysionneau> kristianpaul: well, maintained is a big word
<ysionneau> if needed I can work on it yes
<ysionneau> but almost no-one commits on milkymist legacy code
<ysionneau> so to me it's frozen as is
<ysionneau> flickernoise does not get commits anymore neither
<ysionneau> mtk (the GUI engine of flickernoise) same thing
<kristianpaul> frozen is not bad, i tought it was suporting new migen based soc
<kristianpaul> thats why i asked
<ysionneau> ah
<ysionneau> no there is no work about running RTEMS on misoc
<ysionneau> but it should not be a lot of work at all
<ysionneau> since misoc is really close to the legacy soc in term of software interface
<kristianpaul> legacy is okay for me
<kristianpaul> ah interesting
<ysionneau> it's just different registers addresses and memory mapping and that's about it
<kristianpaul> tought memory had changed a bit
<kristianpaul> yeah
<ysionneau> yes, but it's a few lines to change
<ysionneau> and you're good to go I think
<ysionneau> but since Mixxeo won't use RTEMS (as I understood) there is no need for now to add this kind of support in RTEMS
<kristianpaul> what software will run on Mixxeo btw?
<lekernel> yeh, Mixxeo is bare-metal
<ysionneau> even though it's not so hard to do, it has basically no use for now except saying "yay it works"
mumptai has quit [Quit: Verlassend]
<kristianpaul> is the lua port? or something else?
<lekernel> just C... it won't run anything complex enough to need Lua
<kristianpaul> and the libc is the same from the milkymist legacy?
<lekernel> yes
<lekernel> with better build scripts tho
<lekernel> e.g. you don't need to make copies of crt0, linker script, etc.
<kristianpaul> btw that libc or part of it came from das labor ?
<lekernel> it comes mostly from the linux kernel
<kristianpaul> ahh the one they used to used
<kristianpaul> to use*
<ysionneau> rewritting printf style functions would be such a pain
<kristianpaul> because of the serial core?

<ysionneau> no just because those formatting/converting functions have a lot of parameters and options etc
<ysionneau> it's just inherently annoying to implement
<ysionneau> just have a look at the source code of printf you will understand that you don't want to write it :)
<kristianpaul> I think i did once looked at it, thats why got interested on rtems :)
<ysionneau> the nice thing is that you don't need rtems to have those cool functions
<ysionneau> that's what milkymist bios is doing
