<Guest54516>
is there a way to back up the factory boot0/boot1 from an A33 tablet at all?

<anarsoul>
kind of got digital part of analog audio on A64 working
<anarsoul>
codekipp1r: ^^
<anarsoul>
codekipp1r: BSP driver uses SUN8I_AIF1CLK_CTRL_AIF1_LRCK_DIV_64, not 16
<anarsoul>
now sound is distorted, but I suspect that's something missing in driver for analog part

darn, sometimes I think it would be easier to write a new driver than finding what's wrong with old :\

anarsoul: but Linux mainline do not allow brand new driver for quite similar hardware
<anarsoul>
MoeIcenowy: I know
<MoeIcenowy>
It's why I haven't solved H3/A83T/A64/H5 thermal yet
<anarsoul>
I'm not sure if everything's fine with digital yet...
<anarsoul>
I don't think that analog part can make a white noise out of a sine
<anarsoul>
(playing with speaker-test -t sine)

anarsoul: is this on mainline or legacy?..when I tested on legacy speaker-test was distorted(although I thought the cable I was using was wrong)
<anarsoul>
codekipp1r: mainline
<anarsoul>
codekipp1r: but any mp3 is also distorted
<codekipp1r>
cool then I should be able to replicate.

for i2c versions, you could use i2c-tools

does anyone know how CHIP supports mali and 3d when even the ump/umplock drivers are missing from the gui linux image?

i think these are required for mali to work

alright, i'm at a loss here.. how would one use use mali 3d with CHIP or any other mainline before mripard's work last month without UMP
<marble_visions>
from what I understand malitest uses egl/gles which uses ump
<marble_visions>
is there another way to do 3d, without those?

mali doesn't require UMP
jstein has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<marble_visions>
forkbomb: yes, you can compile without, using some other kernel subsystem, but how do you use it
<marble_visions>
without the infrastructure that uses ump (like egl?)
<marble_visions>
the whole issue is that on the net i can find gles/egl for mali-r3pX
<marble_visions>
and not for the chip-provided mali-r6pX
<marble_visions>
also their buildroot uses sunxi-mali userspace, which is r3pX compatible
<marble_visions>
so how does that add up
<marble_visions>
just wondering..

<forkbomb>
yeah, you need userspace libmali to not require UMP as well
