<MoeIcenowy> anarsoul: Linux or U-Boot?
<anarsoul> MoeIcenowy: Linux
<MoeIcenowy> I think he made some patches on it
<MoeIcenowy> we investigated this problem several days ago
<anarsoul> MoeIcenowy: btw, u-boot HDMI is very flacky, screen turns off and on every 3-5 secs
<L29Ah> can you suggest a microsd supplier that isn't trash?
<L29Ah> i can't see any guaranteed cycle count on any major ones' site
<L29Ah> i'd love to pay premium than to replace some tlc trash every few months
<anarsoul> MoeIcenowy: thanks!
<MoeIcenowy> personally I consider all NAND storages as trash ;-)
<anarsoul> MoeIcenowy: is there a fix for u-boot HDMI?
<L29Ah> well, sata-connected mlc stuff i put in my laptop comes with such numbers and lives for years until i replace it with a bigger one because i'm tired removing my porn videos every now and then
<MoeIcenowy> anarsoul: I don't know
<L29Ah> despite gentoo compiling on it every night
<anarsoul> FWIW pine a64 is able to drive 2560x1440 monitor, pretty impressive
<montjoie> martinayotte: thanks for the test

<jernej> anarsoul: I hope you didn't take h3_hdmi_audio_wip branch but h3_hdmi_audio_v1 instead
<jernej> since that patch is in v1 but not in wip
<anarsoul> jernej: actually, I'm not trying HDMI audio
<jernej> well, if you want up to date hdmi driver, then take h3_hdmi_rfc branch :)
<jernej> I will update those branches hopefully this week
IgorPec has joined #linux-sunxi
<anarsoul> OK
<anarsoul> probably it makes sense to get HDMI audio working first on A64...
<anarsoul> at least I2S blocks seem to be identical for audiocodec and HDMI...

<oliv3r> 64MiB wow; my accesspoint even has 128MiB; but 64MiB ought to be enough for certain applications
<asyring> can I force a specific resolution in cmdline for modesetting?
<oliv3r> i mean, 16MiB for linux, 16MiB for the rest of your OS, 32MiB for your application should be quite alright
<oliv3r> asyring: with modetest you can

<mripard> aalm: that's kind of the point of my answer :)
<mripard> if those features are enabled in the first place, it's because someone added them
<mripard> so someone, somewhere was actually using it
<mripard> whether it should be enabled as a default or left to the user to enable is kind of a different issue though
<mripard> but Siarhei's suggestion seems to be a good lead for a short term fix
<aalm> i'd drop musb
<mripard> then, you lose network for boards without a dedicated ethernet controller, and the ability to flash your eMMC
<aalm> or hdmi? what do you do w/display if you've got no keyboard? :D
<mripard> see, there's really valid use-cases for all of them :)

<aalm> OpenBSD simply can't run w/o efi_loader anymore, even on armv7, so being forced to patch sunxis in the pkg, might soften a bit towards being more permissive w/other patches in the future:)

<Sakami> Hello. I've set the "video-mode" parameter in boot.cmd with "saveenv" but after that the display is messed up on KMS resolution switch.
<Sakami> Now I would like to "undo" the changed to boot.cmd
<Sakami> But it seems that merely deleting "setenv video-mode sunxi:..." and "saveenv" is not enough. The parameter is saved somewhere.
<Sakami> So the question is how can I clear those settings?
<Sakami> Thanks!
<Pe3ucTop_> Hi to all, quick question : How to check clocks/clocktree in /sys/.. ? forgot :(
<MoeIcenowy> /sys/kernel/debug/clk/clk_summary
<Pe3ucTop_> Ok, but.. hm.. Don't see /sys/kernel/debug dir...
<Pe3ucTop_> MoeIcenowy: is there way to check pincontrol config too ?
<MoeIcenowy> I think there's also sth in debugfs
<MoeIcenowy> for /sys/kernel/debug you may need to mount debugfs to it
<MoeIcenowy> debugfs on /sys/kernel/debug type debugfs (rw,relatime)
jbrown has joined #linux-sunxi
<Pe3ucTop_> MoeIcenowy: how you sugest to check pinctr configuration, I'm trying enable CSI MCLK , I see clock is set uped correctly , but no output, probably pin is incorrect mode.
<MoeIcenowy> directly access the register via /dev/mem?
<MoeIcenowy> busybox has an applet called "devmem" to do this
<Pe3ucTop_> MoeIcenowy: Great, thanks , will try. Adress should match register addresses or there is offset ??
<MoeIcenowy> read the user manual
