<sphalerite> Does rk3399 support usb-uart?
vicencb has joined #linux-rockchip
<sphalerite> based on the TRM it looks like it does. I don't think the kernel supports it though?
<urjaman> because not even i am sure what you mean, you might want to extrapolate ...
<sphalerite> urjaman: it's a feature available at least on the rk3288 which turns a USB port into a UART
<urjaman> ah, so UART on the usb pins ...
<urjaman> i was thinking being an usb cdc device (which i suppose you can also do with the OTG controller) or the debug uart access thing that those newer chromebooks have but that doesnt really have anything to do with the rk3399
<sphalerite> yeah
<sphalerite> I'll see if I can implement it. Woooo my first functional kernel modification
<sphalerite> is UOC in e.g. RK3288_UOC0_CON0 "USB OTG Controller"?
<sphalerite> got to love those nested abbreviations

<sphalerite> this is in a chromebook bob, is this the write-protect screw?
<adjtm> sphalerite, bob doesn't use write-protect screw
<adjtm> it uses the battery connector
<adjtm> you need to physically unplug the battery, then the flash is not write-protected
<adjtm> http://www.loper-os.org/?p=2326 sphalerite ^
<mmind00> sphalerite: funny that patchwork did somehow mangle that patch ... patch content doesn't match what it claims to do
<sphalerite> adjtm: oh right, good to know
<sphalerite> mmind00: whoops yes
