<sphalerite> On a c101pa chromebook (gru-bob, rk3399), the CPUs seem to be at their lowest frequency most of the time, even under load, when using the powersave governor. Is changing it to performance likely to result in thermal problems?
<Esmil> sphalerite: I thought powersave = "use the least power possible no matter the load" and performance = "get the highest performance no matter the load". You probably want ondemand, conservative or maybe schedutil if you want the frequency to adapt to the load.
<Esmil> thermal management should still kick in even if you use the performance governor, but I can't promise anything
<sphalerite> Esmil: oh yeah, makes sense
<sphalerite> I'm guessing I can read about the differences between these in linux/Documentation :) thanks!
