ventosus: i had various results with MPEG4, MPEG4 has way too many variations imho, but was not relaible enough to use it. although gstreamer might handle that better

anyway software decode is quite fast enough on higher end arm socs

as I have frequently noted absurdly bad rescale is the bottle neck on my system

which is solved by using software rescale instead of amulated hw decode

I guess some rare codecs that do not support ffmpeg-mt and ae poorly optimized

indeed, the RK3188 can handle software decoding just fine on my 720p stream

but as Ke points out, rescaling (720p -> 1080p) is the bottle neck in my chain, too

and 1080p seems to be hardcoded in the kernel itself I'm using

I use mpv output x11 to resolve the problem

llvmpipe is just really bad

will try to build a new one defaulting to 720p, so I could get rid of scaling
