I'm trying to use PCIe on the rk3399. Do I need to patch my u-boot?

i tested pcie with the release-4.4 kernel and it worked without any changes

I have a r9 nano I'm trying to connect and I get nothing on my firefly rk3399

Power is satisfied and I have gone over all of the schematics and can find no reason why it wouldn't work except for maybe a reset line, and that I sorted externally from the board

i don't own a firefly, so can't say anything about it

only thing that comes to mind would be to check if the pcie entry in the devicetree is active

I am using their SDK and it does not use devicetrees

I was looking through it and their menuconfig has dt disabled

at least it's defined there. i didn't do more than that two entries on my hardware either

Hopefully I can figure out where the kernel is supposed to go, there's a resource file in the firmware flash tool that declares addresses and I don;t know where to find that file

Ah, I have seen code similar to that, I do get a message about not finding power supplies and no link in dmesg

One more question, when I was attempting to get it to work, I poked around on the i2c bus quite a bit and did not get a response from my pci card. Is this normal? Some addresses were "access denied"

is the bus shared on the firefly?

if so it could be that there are already some addresses bind in the kernel

then you will get an error

if there are UU then these are already assigned by the kernel

I think so, they were the power management IC's from what I could tell, but I expected my video card at address something and I see UU in the command

you can access them anyway with i2cget if you use -f for force

I kinda bricked my board and had to recover because I made that file up
