<vagrantc> mmind00: the cabling was the main thing i wasn't sure on ... also not sure exactly which usb port it picks
<vagrantc> mmind00: thanks for the link!
<mmind00> vagrantc: it is always the otg-port ... but when adding the cabling I always pick the wrong one at first on my jerry
<vagrantc> only have two to pick from on the veyron-speedy, unless one is hidden somewhere
<vagrantc> but don't kow if either are OTG

<vagrantc> main thing i have left to figure out is getting depthcharge to pass the initrd correctly ... or port u-boot to it and forget about coreboot/depthcharge/libreboot altogether...
<vagrantc> but all that for another day...
<vagrantc> thanks folks!

<fischerm> mmind00: what's the easiest way to boot a reasonably new kernel on a veyron-jerry? chainload u-boot?

<mmind00> fischerm: easiest way is just to use the regular coreboot: https://plus.google.com/+HeikoSt%C3%BCbner_x/posts/YxtKFJaGiv6 ... should work with regular mainline (multi_v7_defconfig) as well nowadays

<fischerm> mmind00: k, I tried your devel/somewhat-stable branch that seems to run. I'll give mainline a shot later today. Thanks!

<fischerm> mmind00: is displayport / X supposed to work on mainline 4.8-rc3?
<mmind00> fischerm: the analogix-dp (internal display) is in mainline for some time now ... and the modesetting x-server is able to use that
<fischerm> hrm
<fischerm> weird
<mmind00> I guess from your remarks I can assume you don't see anything on the display
<fischerm> well console works ;-)
<fischerm> so not all is lost
<fischerm> trying with arch linux arm filesystem
<mmind00> ok, so if you see the console on the internal display, the dp itself is innocent
<mmind00> (as it is obviously working :-) )
<fischerm> :)
<mmind00> I guess you might want to look into the xorg log
<fischerm> yeah, I also realized I built without CONFIG_SECCOMP
<fischerm> which made systemd angry
<fischerm> mmind00: I used multi_v7_defconfig
<mmind00> fischerm: https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/3882 seems that this should be fixed in a newer systemd
<fischerm> yeah
<fischerm> hrm, _CREATE_GEM failed with -22 that's EINVAL
