hello, I got some problems running a firefly rk3288 with mainline u-boot. Or rather, u-boot works but can start any linux kernel, it just hangs at "Starting kernel ..."
<npl>
Tried current u-boot with CONFIG_EFI_LOADER disabled, and an older one (2016.1). Tried a self-compiled kernel, and one extracted from Firefly`s Ubuntu Image
<npl>
Don`t find much info around the net for using Rockhip without the "rockchipped" u-boot
<npl>
some known to work configurations would be nice, don`t have an JTag Adapter to dig deeper

One step further: "Uncompressing Linux... done, booting the kernel."
<mmind00>
npl: try enabling the debug uart + earlyprintk output, as this will hopefully show you more early boot output and maybe even what fails
<npl>
If you`d start now, what sources would you recommend, there are multiple branches for u-boot (eg. with net), and an almost infinite amount of kernels?
<mmind00>
npl: I'm a bad advisor in this regard, as I'm not having any specific project of my own and just try to improve the whole experience, so I'm just running mainline rc kernel for all my stuff
<mmind00>
as for uboot, I've actually not tried the mainline uboot on my rk3288 boards, but could run mainline uboot on a rk3036 board just fine
<npl>
So, in other words mainline 4.8rc should support rk3288 mostly. Can you give me some hint to where you can get the missing defconfigs, or are you configuring everything by hand?
<npl>
Finding information about these boards and piecing everything together is painfull
<npl>
Either you dont find anything or multiple sources, completely out of sync with everything else =)
