<chris2>
hi, i'm in search of an available aarch64 device/board that runs with a mostly-vanilla linux kernel. any recommendations?
<sjoerd>
a general one or a rockchip one
<chris2>
general is ok too
<chris2>
i know of the 96boards already
<mmind00>
the rk3368 arm64 soc has basic support, i.e. you can boot into a rootfs on a usb device using a serial console (ethernet works too), but it's not yet at a level to compete with the rk3288 in terms of functionality
<chris2>
i just see quite some rockchip android tv boxes and wonder how hard it is to run plain linux on them
<chris2>
mmind00: with mainline kernel?
<mmind00>
chris2: yep ... at least with 4.3
<chris2>
nice
<chris2>
so can you recommend where to order such a thing?
<sjoerd>
alternatively you can get an arm server but that's a lot more expensive ofcourse, but quitea bit more oomph
<chris2>
i'm waiting for the 96boards enterprise edition
<chris2>
the gigabyte board is too expensive for me :)
<chris2>
but if i had some small device, that would be nice already
<mmind00>
chris2: no idea ... Rockchip sent me my board
