to be fair, that's not specific to the hisense, and is more specific to the mwifiex

I wonder if the Asus C100 (Chromebook Flip) would also work with Linux (natively, not crouton)
<GekkePrutser>
I love the form factor and low weight for travelling but I don't like giving Google all my stuff :)
<GekkePrutser>
But I suppose it's a bit early for that given that it's not actually available yet
<karlp>
what's "crouton" ?
<GekkePrutser>
Crouton is basically a chroot environment where you can run a Linux environment on top of ChromeOS
<GekkePrutser>
It's the easiest way to run Linux on a chromebook but it runs alongside ChromeOS so it doesn't really fix any privacy concerns
<GekkePrutser>
But I'm happy to see the progress on the Haier/Hisense ones!

GekkePrutser: what makes you think I wouldn't work? :-) The changes throughout all veyron devices are quite small
<GekkePrutser>
I don't know - I've never had a rockchip device so far
<GekkePrutser>
But there are a few things that are special about this one
<GekkePrutser>
Like the touch screen, motion sensor
<GekkePrutser>
However I wouldn't really care about those
<GekkePrutser>
Would you know if hardware H.264 acceleration would work?
<mmind00>
GekkePrutser: in general this "will it work on device-X too" is really Android-centric, where each "firmware" contains new madness per device
<GekkePrutser>
Oh that's good news!
<mmind00>
GekkePrutser: in contrast, the Archlinux howto above will most likely already start on the Flip too
<GekkePrutser>
I think I will get one as soon as they come out... It's the best value for money travel device I think (I always love having a real keyboard)
<mmind00>
GekkePrutser: ChromeOS is so vastly different (and better) in terms how they do things, that it's really only having the matching devicetree, which in this case is probably already included
<GekkePrutser>
At the moment I use a Toshiba AC100 with Ubuntu
<GekkePrutser>
But it's showing its age
<mmind00>
hehe ... I also still keep one of those around
<GekkePrutser>
I just love the sub 1kg weight (I fly a lot with Ryanair who are real sticklers for the 10kg hand luggage thing)
<GekkePrutser>
But that's very good news.. This device looks like a great option. And I don't mind tweaking around to get stuff working.
<GekkePrutser>
But yeah the AC100 is really old now, battery life is limited and I never got suspend working properly

amstan: this is the asus c201
<rperier>
I got it from amazon, US
<rperier>
:)

I have a physical qwerty keyboard , except that everything works fine. I enabled the developer mode this morning, I will build the chromeos kernel and switch to yocto I think

hi, does anybody know if android on radxa rock uses hwcomposer or only GLES?
<kido>
I'm sorry if it's the wrong place to ask, I couldn't think of a better place to meet people who work on android for rockchip
