<naobsd>
it's standard linux initramfs (except rkcrc/mkbootimg)

anyone around
<cristian_c>
sorry, is find commad needed?
<cristian_c>
*command
<Valduare>
what kind of device do you have cristian_c
<cristian_c>
Valduare, mk809iii
<cristian_c>
but cpio+gz syntax is not clear
<Valduare>
I have a few mk808 and one 802iii
<cristian_c>
Valduare, I don't know if find command is needed
<Valduare>
im not sure what your working on?
<cristian_c>
Valduare, I've to repack the cwm recovery
<cristian_c>
I was suggested to use gpio+gz
<cristian_c>
and then rkcrc or mkbootimg
<Valduare>
bout all i’ve done with my arm devices is throw ubuntu on them
<AstralixNB>
Valduare, which image do you use?
<Valduare>
i’d have to look been almost a year since I provisioned them
<Valduare>
but it was a rootfs
<AstralixNB>
I am currently figuring out the steps again with 14.04 desktop
<Valduare>
is there any hope for being able to just upgrade these arm devices
<Valduare>
or is it alway going to be the extra steps heh
<AstralixNB>
The problem is the mixture of hardware
<AstralixNB>
I hope it is possible to keep the rootfs but you need a matching kernel
<AstralixNB>
And, as was discussed here or at #radxa, you might face the problem that a stick called MK908ii is not the same hardware as a nother stick calles MK908ii
<cristian_c>
googling, I can find many commands
<cristian_c>
for example pipe between find , cpio and gzip
<cristian_c>
but it's not clear waht is the right command
<cristian_c>
*what
<AstralixNB>
cristian_c, there are many ways of throwing the binary images through that process for getting a boot.img...
<AstralixNB>
in the end they all have the same result
<AstralixNB>
But wait a second, I figured that out myself and noted it somewhere...
<cristian_c>
ok, but if I use rkcrc , do I need to use -H newc in the cpio command?
<AstralixNB>
Hmmm... yesterday I found that rkcrc -k doesn't work with loader 2.x
<cristian_c>
I don't know what loader I'm using
<cristian_c>
and I don't know if find command is needed
<cristian_c>
to pipe to cpio command
<AstralixNB>
If you want to create a boot.img you probably don't need -k
<AstralixNB>
yes, I'm searching
<cristian_c>
AstralixNB, no, I don't need boot.img
<cristian_c>
cpu usage is very high, and I've found a file named cpio.gz in my home
<cristian_c>
with it large 2.8 GB
<AstralixNB>
Ouch
<AstralixNB>
you probably cpio-ed the wrong rootfs?
<cristian_c>
O.o
<cristian_c>
*it's
<cristian_c>
*named .cpio.gz

uhm, server has disconnected me
<cristian_c>
now, it's 3.3 GB :O
<AstralixNB>
so probably you missed to give a parameter to the tool?
<cristian_c>
AstralixNB, ok, but readme says only:
<cristian_c>
Usage: mkcpiogz directoty
<AstralixNB>
if you do "du -b ramfs" where ramfs is the name of the directory you like to be the initramfs
<cristian_c>
ok
<cristian_c>
can I kill the gzip process?
<AstralixNB>
sure
<cristian_c>
ok, many results
<cristian_c>
the last: 3091667recovery
<cristian_c>
~3 MB

ok, so as far as I can read from kernel headers - RK definitions, eFuse physical base is 0x2001000. There is ready code for accessing this register and reading out all of 256 bits of this eFuse. Seems no any documentation publicly avaiable regarding to _programming_ efuses. So my question is, maybe someone already worked on eFuse programming. though, register description would be usefull.
