I have one or two patches, but I think those made it into rc3 or rc4
<
Tenkawa>
i'll keep looking... bbl

is anyone using a ddx different than fbturbo/fbdev on snow/peach-pi(t) ?
<
Wizzup>
I'm interested in getting something that does randr (and specifically, external displays/hdmi)
<
javier__>
Wizzup: I used -armsoc and it worked well
<
Wizzup>
I can try to find out why xf86-video-modesetting doesn't work, but I'm afraid I do not know what I'll be getting myself into
<
Wizzup>
javier__: which one? there are so many forks? :)
<
javier__>
Wizzup: I used one we use for demos but afaiu is not that different that the upstream one
<
javier__>
the one on fdo
<
javier__>
Wizzup: the only problem I had with -armsoc is that the exynos drm driver hang with the iommu series
<
javier__>
while it worked well with fbdev
<
Wizzup>
I will give it a shot in a bit
<
javier__>
Wizzup: ok
<
Wizzup>
and then also report on hibernate
<
javier__>
Wizzup: so you are still experiencing issues on S2R?
<
javier__>
what is the issue exactly?
<
Wizzup>
keyboard and touchpad don't come back to life
<
Wizzup>
I think I saw some usb errors, I'd have to re do it (with a usb keyboard attached) to find out what the exact issues were
<
javier__>
weird, I didn't have that issue
<
Wizzup>
I have to jump on my bycicle first :)
<
Wizzup>
the most annoying issue is that it doesn't actually power off on power off -- but more on that in a bit
<
javier__>
Wizzup: if you can use latest linux-next and report your issue to linux-samsung-soc@vger.kernel.org, that will be helpful
<
javier__>
including the machine you are testing on (iiuc is a snow), kernel log and defconfig used

starts work on his old chromebook
<
Tenkawa>
can any of the chromebook2's qemu emulate an x86 windows install at least useable?
<
Tenkawa>
or is it still just too slow in the translation

well 4.0.4 will consistently boot up fine with a white screen
<
Tenkawa>
if i could figure out how to fix that I think I could get the rest working

he was testing on snow using a 4.0 kernel while I have said a thousand times that the display snow dts bits landed in v4.1-rc1

We need an FAQ.
<

si1v3r: true but also people can keep some notes to avoid someone having to mentione to them the same thing several times

si1v3r: is not that I mind to repeat the same thing btw but sometimes I'm busy and I can't dedicate time to talk on this channel

javier__: I understand completely. :)
<

I told tenkawa several times to use 4.1rc4
<
Wizzup>
I guess I didn't see he mentioned 4.0.x yesterday
<
Wizzup>
I'm puzzled
<
Wizzup>
xf86-video-modesetting randomly worked
<
Wizzup>
when I was trying a different driver...
<
Wizzup>
seems fast enough

is the lock irqsave/irqrestore postponing page fault irq ?
<
prahal_>
I get a page fault against exynos drm sysmmu but the origin is tagged most of the time as the ui but at times polkitd or dbus-daemon .

cool, with xf86-video-modesetting xrandr somewhat works
<
Wizzup>
using both outputs (hdmi and lvds) at the same time seems a bit buggy still
<
Wizzup>
but hdmi is fine when lvds is turned off and vice versa
