<WarheadsSE> now if only I could get X to start ...
<WarheadsSE> swabbles: Wizzup any tips on why I might be getting http://ix.io/c26
<Wizzup> WarheadsSE: do you have some context? :)
<Wizzup> too little info for me I fear

<Wizzup> libv: are you interested in arm chromebook hw?
<Wizzup> (for lima)
<libv> i have the first arm chromebook, i had it capturing and replaying a shaded triangle on mali t624 in september
<libv> so i have the hw, just haven't found time to further work on it
<Wizzup> alright
<swabbles> Wizzup: I haven't been able to compile nv u-boot for snow/spring, because neither dtc 1.3 or dtc 1.4 are able to process the dts-files :P.
<Wizzup> huh?
<swabbles> Well, I've been trying to follow the same steps for firmware-snow and firmware-spring, but those two seem to be incredibly out-dated or something.
<Wizzup> but, I'm using nv-uboot for snow atm and I'm pretty sure it worked with dtc 1.3
<Wizzup> So should we host some basic binaries? nv-uboot, a working kernel, etc?
<swabbles> In the end, yes.
<swabbles> nv u-boot is something I would like to be able to compile though (or well have a guide for it that isn't as long as the Google one).
<Wizzup> yes
<swabbles> The current instructions seem to work fine for peach (nv u-boot), but not for snow/spring (at least for me).
<swabbles> brb, heading to the train.
<Wizzup> $ cat /etc/env.d/02locale
<Wizzup> # See locale.conf(5) and localectl(1).
<Wizzup> # This file has been created by the sys-apps/systemd ebuild.
<Wizzup> LANG="en_GB.UTF-8"
<Wizzup> interesting...
<Wizzup> I'm sure I never installed systemd
<Wizzup> (and I still don't have it)
<swabbles> Is this part of the new Gentoo stage3?
<Wizzup> lol, I hope not
<tfiga> Unless you're using eudev or so, you need a part of systemd :)
<swabbles> tfiga: knowing Wizzup he likely has eudev installed everywhere.
<tfiga> :)
<Wizzup> yeah
<swabbles> Wizzup: do you have the Peachbook with you?
<Wizzup> swabbles: I also brought mt mario and luigo
<Wizzup> luigi, even
<Wizzup> Did you bring daisy?
<Wizzup> swabbles: we should make a physical peach skin
<Wizzup> something pink
afaerber_ is now known as afaerber
<swabbles> Good news, guys!
<swabbles> I've got nv u-boot to work :).
<swabbles> Wizzup: ^
<Wizzup> swabbles: diff load addr?
<swabbles> Yes, and other than that I set to the console to white on black (similar to Snow).
<Wizzup> ack

<swabbles> OK, plan for today is to host nv u-boot binaries on linux-exynos.org, as well as a working kernel (and change the guide to use nv u-boot instead).
<swabbles> I will also change the part on partitioning to use cgpt instead :).
<swabbles> That should result in a pretty easy to follow guide.
<swabbles> And something that just works (tm).
<WarheadsSE> Still haven't quite gotten X working for me yet
<Wizzup> WarheadsSE: are you using armsoc?
<WarheadsSE> I tried: armsoc-chromium, armsoc-git, fbdev, fbturbo
<WarheadsSE> added in xf86-video-modeset as well
<Wizzup> what xorg server do you have
<Wizzup> WarheadsSE: http://sprunge.us/ePbF ?
<Wizzup> wait
<Wizzup> that is the wrong file
<Wizzup> :D
<Wizzup> this `just worked' on the chromebook2 (disregard all the primary stuff, still works)

<swabbles> Wizzup: going to nuke the SSD now :).
<swabbles> If anyone wants early access to the nv u-boot binaries for Peach Pi/Pit, just shoot.
<WarheadsSE> Wizzup: I'll try pulling that in
<WarheadsSE> Wizzup: which driver?
<WarheadsSE> Hmm, even with that, not quite working
<WarheadsSE> Wizzup: the xorg-server is 1.15.1
<WarheadsSE> http://ix.io/cZw
<Wizzup> WarheadsSE: armsoc
<Wizzup> I am on 1.14, but can upgrade and try
<WarheadsSE> K, thats what I am on
<WarheadsSE> armsoc-chromium
<Wizzup> did you patch it
<Wizzup> iirc default armsoc does not compile with x > 1.13
<WarheadsSE> Yeah, we are based of the chromium git
<WarheadsSE> some patches, of course.
<WarheadsSE> PKGBUILDs for armsoc-* are there.
<WarheadsSE> of course, MIGHT need to be updated.
<WarheadsSE> fairly up to date though
<Wizzup> well yeah
<Wizzup> It just wfm
<Wizzup> :/
<WarheadsSE> hrm
<WarheadsSE> which xorg are you using?
<Wizzup> 1.14 atm
<WarheadsSE> m
<WarheadsSE> crap. Left my power supply at home
<WarheadsSE> and the battery just died
<swabbles> :D
* Wizzup can't get a kernel WITH initramfs to boot
<Wizzup> qq
liquidAcid has quit [Quit: Leaving]
<Wizzup> swabbles~
<Wizzup> It has something to do with the way I make initramfs'es...
<Wizzup> swabbles: It works with snow's initramfs
<Wizzup> (which does not do what I want)
<Wizzup> swabbles: success
<Wizzup> swabbles: so yeah
<Wizzup> the problem was in how I called xz
<Wizzup> it needs --check=crc32
<Wizzup> 64 is not supported by the kernel
