Hey, does anyone know if there's a copy of Riot-Web on IPFS yet?
<Alch_Emi>
It's totally static, iirc, so I imagine it's doable, but I'd wanna use a pre-existing one over adding a new one
<Alch_Emi>
If no one has, I might throw one up at some point in time
<Alch_Emi>
Just probably not tonight, I'm tired
<ShokuninDiscord4>
Yup
<ShokuninDiscord4>
In fact, <span class="d-mention d-user">swedneck [GMT+1]</span> set one up for our project!
<Alch_Emi>
Oh nice!
<Alch_Emi>
You don't happen to have the CID lieing around
<Alch_Emi>
or know where I could find it?
<ShokuninDiscord4>
Swedneck would!
<Alch_Emi>
a awesome!
<Alch_Emi>
I'll wait for them to get online
<Alch_Emi>
Thanks so much ^^

is there any way to reuse js-ipfs p2p connection and send arbitrary data to connected js-ipfs peer.
<ripply[m]>
what do you mean by reuse the connection, the connection is multiplexed, if you try to talk on multiple protocols at the same time it will automatically reuse an open connection
dethos has quit [Quit: Time to Go!]
<DanielMaricic[m]>
i mean can i send the data of X from one ipfs instance (in browser) to another instance (browser). they use the same code base different instances. i managed to get orbitDB replicate on both instances after i connect them, maybe my question is not clear, it's because it's not clear in my head what to ask.
<DanielMaricic[m]>
basically i want my 2 apps to talk to eachother after they are connected using ipfs, (i can see the Peer id of both in the list of connected peers.
<ripply[m]>
you can have them talk to each other by just opening a protocol with the multiaddr being their ipfsid if they have already connected to eachother and have already figured out routing
<DanielMaricic[m]>
do you have any examples? coz all of this for a person who's starting is quite overwhelming 🙂
gimzmoe has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
<ripply[m]>
let me find something, libp2p is indeed overwhelming, do you have any custom protocols defined in your code yet?
KempfCreative has quit [Ping timeout: 255 seconds]
<DanielMaricic[m]>
cool. i'll go through them links. now when you've seen the code, how can i send a message of 'hi there' to one of the nodes which i know the ID and i have it open. ( 2 tabs in the 2 diff browsers)
<DanielMaricic[m]>
oh, sorry, i saw the chat now. lemme check
<DanielMaricic[m]>
right. in my case both of the nodes are listener and dialer. so tis just responding to the events.
<ripply[m]>
yea, its possible to juse use /p2p/ipfsid as the peerinfo multiaddr, but only if ipfs can figure out routing, either through DHT lookups and forgot what its called, communicating through another node they are both connected to, else you need a better multiaddr with something like an ip or dns lookup

relay? i have the ipfs companion running and serving the api and gateway, and both of the nodes are local nodes. i'll see what i can do in the morning. this seems to a be a great start! thanks mate

yea relay

<ripply[m]>
one gotcha when dealing with custom protocols, js-libp2p has a maximum buffer size, I think its 2mb, if you are sending large chunks of data its possible you hit that limit and the reader will throw an exception
