Hello everybody. Can anyone advise a distributed database? I mean that I need a DB with transactions which can be modified by multiple users simultaneously, keeps track who have made each change (auth and integrity using crypto), allows undoing changes, etc. etc. etc. The history is mutable by a trusted entity. The use case is a serverless app in trusted setting: lets say there is a company and noone wants to host and admin a server with the app,…
<KOLANICH>
… everyone just wants to install an app which just works. If someone behaves maliciously, it should be easily detectable who exactly, and then the boss just fires that employee.

KOLANICH: sounds like an intersting project
<arthur>
git comes to mind for similar uses. it also has a decent verson controll system built ontop of it :-)
<arthur>
the downsides are speed of consensus, storing all history forever, and need to handle merges in your code (which seems likely in whatever distributed system you use)

arthur: I have already thought about something like a serverless VCS, but VCS is not a DB. Merges (and transactions) look like a big problem.
<KOLANICH>
Cleaning history is already supported in git - so called shallow clones
